If you saved the song as a native Audacity file, it should consist of two parts. For a project called "song" there will be an xml file called "song.aup", and a directory called "song_data" which contains a lot of numbered .au (or .auf) files. Each of the .au files has only a few seconds of sound on it. The .aup file tells Audacity what files are in the project and how they fit together. If you are missing the .au files, you are SOL. If the .aup file is lost or corrupted, you can probably reconstruct it with a text editor if you know some xml or can puzzle out the format from what you do have.

Good luck.

Go to search [on your computer]
Put in the name of the file and other specifications [where you want to search if there's a specific place or if you want to search your whole computer]
And.. just.. go.
