About a month ago, I went out with some friends and drank a bit too much vodka and ended up vomitting like crazy. No suprise-right? Right. So I go out again a few nights ago and have only the equivalent of 1 shot of vodka and within an hour I am vomitting horribly! even the day after i was vomitting and just had to sleep all day.

I guess my question is...why do I only get this reaction after drinking VODKA???

I don't ever get like this when drinking any other type of alcoholic drink.

And, you'll be happy to hear that after my most recent event with vodka-I am never going to drink again...It was that bad.

The only alcohol ive ever vomited was vodka, so i try not to drink too much of it. i can handle good vodka like absolut but skol or cheap stuff hates me. People are different, thats why there are lots of kinds of alcohol.

Hard to say. Could be psychological. You got sick last time so you expected to get sick again this time and your body accommodated you.

Could be physical.Maybe something you ate or didn't eat. Whatever you drink, you don't want either a full nor an empty stomach or the alcohol can make you very ill.

Either way, you're choosing the smart path. Like the doctor says, "if it hurts to do it, stop doing it!"

I just read about this in psychology. It is all psychological, just like if you had food poisoning from a certain food, you associate that food with being sick, this could cause you to become nauseous from the smell. This is the same thing with your vodka, I have this with bourbon. After time the conditioned response of being sick from vodka will fade, this is called extinction, although spontaneous recovery could occur causing you to be sick again. Check out Pavlov's experiments with dogs.
