I have fished several golf course ponds. Some with permission and some without.(at night without permission) I have found that most of the golf courses do not actively try to sustain any decent size fish. Mostly smaller bass in the ponds I've fished. Occasionally a larger fish will come up.But rarely.

I have fished a golf course before. It was not relaxing,as I had to watch over my shoulder the wholetime because I was trespassing. The fishing was not as good as I thought it would be, but if I had a chance to do it legally and more lesierly I would. Almost no fishing pressure and I know there are some monsters in there.
Call and ask, but they will most likely say no. Golf courses are like forbiden fruit around here.

Well it wasn't on a golf course. My friend has a golf cart and she lives near a school. So we were really bored and there was a football game going on, so we hopped in the cart and during half time we ran through the football game. Ha Ha. We didn't go to that school, so why not do that. We got yelled at so we booked it in the cart. Even to this day were still laughing about it every time we see a golf cart.

a few of the Golf Courses here will let you as long as you disturb the Golfers; most of the will be friendly a few have bought me beers off the drink cart. Also try Municpal Courses over Private Courses (Muncipal Courses are City or County owned so its easier to get permission) Private Courses tend to shy away they don't want the liablilty if something happens to you . I Kindly point out that in VA if you are fishing/hunting on thier property that they are not liable for anything that happens and you can't sue them

Just check with the course first for permission.
I don't know if you were just going to catch and release, or if you were planning on eating them but I would think fish caught in those ponds would not be very healthy at all. Tons of pesticides and fertilizers and stuff on golf courses. Probably wouldn't eat them if I were you.
Just a FYI. Happy fishing.

sure! golf course ponds can b awesome! call and ask if you can fish. i did this at our local course and they said 'nope'. so i went to the course, paid for a round of golf and teed off. when i came to the 4th hole (the one with the pond) i pulled my 2-piece bass rod from my bag and a reel and bait from the ball pouch and proceeded to rig up and fish. i caught 4 bass before a groundskeeper drove up and asked me what i thought i was doing. i simply explained to him that i paid to use the course and i intended to use every inch of it. i then asked if there was a time limit to be on the course. he scratched his head and replied 'uh no'. so i said 'ok thanks for your help'. he drove away with a confused look on his face. i've done it a few times since with no problems. try it, it worked for me

I suppose that depends on what course your playing.
TPC, Sawgrass, Jax FLA has some HUGE Bass!
Most courses won't give you permission. But, thats where a travel rod comes in handy. A travel rod fits perfectly into a golf bag! (lol)
You never know, there might be a 10 LBer waitin' for ya in those ponds.

Yes, I have, in Phoenix Arizona, they have some pretty good bass ponds on some of the courses. I California, they told me no way, so you need to ask, so that you don't get arrested.
