The embalming process slows the decomposition, but we go back to the dust that God made man from. The spirit goes back to the Father. We are no longer in need of our earthly bodies. Bodies that have not been embalmed, turn much quicker, as in a body that is found, when murdered, and not found for some time, or back in the day when embalming was not done.

Who's this "we"?
The physical remains physical, usually. Ashes and dust. Yup, that's the stuff of life.
The thinking.consoius, whatever...that is the qustion isn't it. Does it turn into something else when we die? Keep asking and exploring, "we" may find out someday.
But you and I and all of us are here now, so there is the place ot put the thoughts.

Our bodies turn back to dust but, our soul lives on either in heaven or in hell. That is your choice.
If you don't know Jesus, turn and repent of your sins and God remembers no more.
Read his word and pray daily, find a good Bible based Church that teaches the word of God and where His Spirit flows freely.

humans are composed of three elements...
our physical body...it is what will turned out to be dust if we die
second is our spirit......it is a part of us that became hurt when we do bad things....and rejoices if were in right track
third is our soul....it is the one that will go to heaven if we die...

after many years of decomposition and decay yes...tho I'd rather become a nice, robust, fertile soil than dust...and then eventually when the sun goes supernova we will rejoin the stars. :)
