Did you say VENT??? Was that an invitation?? Man, you don't know the HALF of it. VERY UNFORTUNATELY, I have a brother who lives less than an hour away from their COMPOUND, and has actually SEEN IT. This is NOT A CHURCH, it is a fortress complete with concertina razor wire and security cameras. In any other country, these people would be lynched. Remember, the first ammendment was NOT WRITTEN to protect POPULAR SPEECH.
That being said, the WORST thing these hatemongers do is call themselves BAPTIST. I am a Baptist, and I can't tell you what I think of them and their actions. If I would express my thoughts regarding Westboro Baptist church, most of my contacts would question my christianity, and I would be in violation of community guidlines. How about by their works ye shall know them? They shall reap as they are sowing. What sort of Gospel are they preaching? Do they show ANY love toward ANYBODY? What do you think their REAL PURPOSE is?

There is probably some way to figure out when they protest, just keep digging.. But I think that the police have it in control and usually work them into some corner. They can still legally do what they do, but they can't get in the way.
A counter protest might just make a mess of somebody's son's funeral and make them feel worse than they already do.
Why don't you go to wherever the Westboro church is and protest there. Notify the news and protest them on their home court and see how they like it. Then you wouldn't be in the middle on a funeral and people that are grieving.

Do whatever you want, it won't matter. It's not like that hasn't been done before.
Seriously, get over Fred Phelps and his family. They're nonviolent and, while extremely outspoken, have been saying nothing new about their hate for a long, long time. It's only since they began to hate America and her soldiers that anyone cared. They have been going after other groups (particularly homosexuals) for years.

The worst part about it is their kids. They are teaching all of this hate to a new generation. They protested a soldiers funneral here in Omaha. How crazy is that. I want to go down to Kansas City and protest their church. They spit off so much hate, that I cant believe any god wouldnt want to send em to you know where......
