Is it OK to kill for our food?
Of course, food is less likely to jump off of the plate when its dead. ;)

For some reason we humans like to think killing is bad. The fact is that in the wild there is only one way to die, get killed. I guess a few animalls die from old age or disease, but the vast majority are being eaten before they are dead. All animal and human life exist by directly killing its food. Plant life exist by using organic material that allready died. All life lives off of death. It's just the way it is.
My wife hates seeing things die. So she pays someone else to do the killing for her- the butcher. But she realizes that by her actions , animals are dieing. And thats ok, she doesn't want to see it. I think most people fall into this category. I on the other hand don't mind seeing it so I butcher animals and hunt them as well.
If you feel strongly about this become a vegetarian, but realize you cannot live your life without taking another's. To some degree, I think plant life is less sacred than animal life. Just as animal life is less sacred than human life.
One last thing, we are a bunch of hunters here, so you certainly won't find us objective. Good luck

Is it okay to kill for our food? Yes and no. If you legally hunt game for food, THAT'S okay. If you walk into a grocery store and shoot up the place to get your food, well that's NOT okay.
Otherwise it really depends on where you are in the food chain. Example: Lambs are vegetarians. Lambs get eaten all the time by wolves or bears. Someone who becomes a vegetarian might be mistaken for a lamb and end becoming some dumb animal's meal. So where are you in the food chain. Are you a hunter, or are you... Prey?
Good luck.

We kill all our food.
Just because you didn't actually "do the deed", you benefit from the act since you eat the product. I feel anyone who eats a meat product, then disdains hunters for killing animals are hypocrites.
And for you Vegetarians out there, you are not off the hook either. It's called PLANT LIFE for a reason.
NOTE TO "WILLIE D": You should not kill and eat the illiterate. Remember, "You are what you eat". . .

The consumption of large amounts of protein and amino acids are what let man develop a larger brain.
We developed killing and eating wild game meat.
I eat wild game and will teach my children the truth and reasoning to do the same.

Yes! Absolutely! However, except in the case of a dire survival emergency, avoid killing whooping cranes, snowy owls, etc.

You bet. And insofar as I'm concerned, if you aren't at least at a moral level willing to kill it, you shouldn't be willing to eat it. Hmm...Think I'll have aborted chicken babies and pig butt for breakfast tomorrow.

Not only is it OK to kill for food, I think it's OK to kill people who can't spell or use proper punctuation...as long as we eat the illiterate.
