The basic declaration of faith in Islam is
"There is no god, but God".
This statement has two parts
1) There is no god
2) But there is one God
This statement was revolutionary considering the time it was revealed. It reduced the number of gods to just one, which is so close to atheism. The first part is very significant in that it rejects all baseless beliefs associated with "gods", which is the essence of atheism; whereas the second part explains the uniformity, will and purpose behind the creation of the universe as well as the source of the moral principles governing the human society which are basically religious in origin, but still which even the atheists condone. Historically it can be seen that atheistic ideology came into being only after the advent of Islam. It arose in Europe during the dark ages as the rebellion against the church as a result of their interaction with the Islamic civilization which was flowering at that time. However as the Europe didn’t become Muslim they embraced only the first part in principle. Still they too accepted two vital corollaries of the second: That the universe is governed by a single will, which is of course the science; and they too accepted the moral values like human equality, freedom, fraternity, justice and morality which are basically religious in origin, but has been corrupted over the ages and has been re-founded by Islam. (For example even though there are many scientific theories challenging the human equality, atheists has generally favored it).
Hence it may be safe to state that atheism is an offshoot of Islam?

(WORSHIP ALLAH (ALONE)

Nope. Sorry, but the whole enlightenment-renaissance thing happened more because the church got shot down than anything else. And because science started up.
As in, atheism is it's own independent thing, and derived independently for very many atheists. That's the thing about atheism - it is not about some commandment or identity, but a set of reasonable principles which anyone can draw from the world.

There was the disbelief in God in some places of the world prior to Islam.
Secondly, a person may not believe in God but he/she may also have never heard of Islam.
Thirdly, a person who has once been indoctrinated with Islam and turns to another religion or atheism, may have done so because of the perceived "benefits" of the new religion or atheism. He/she may have made her choice without taking Islam into significant consideration.

atheism has been a viable minority position for most of recorded history, long before the advent of islam. islam claims to cut down on the supernatural stuff, but in practice much remains (djinn, moon-splitting miracles, etc).
i think there may be something to a comparison of the atheist and muslim conceptions of god. i have been told that muslims view god as that which cannot be concieved. i would add 'existence' to the list of properties that god doesn't have. but this is not a tiny detail i think!
your historical interpretation is just silly. if islam is the one absolutely correct worldview, why is it that advances in science, democracy and free trade emerged in the west and not to any great extent in islamic nations?

not at all. in-fact Islam is the only religion u always promotes and stress One GOD. see below verses from chapter 112 The Unity, Sincerity, Oneness Of Allah
1. Say: He is Allah, the One and Only;
2. Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;
3. He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;
4. And there is none like unto Him
from above verses its clearly indicated that God is one.
as far as ur first statement is concern u r quoting out of context thing read both but not single sentence. see here God says to atheist that there is no God but only one God and that is Allah ( Arabic translation of God)
read continuously both not just one.

No! Islam is an offshoot of christianity, and christianity is an offshoot of Judaism, which in theory was influenced by Zoroastrianism. Atheism, if anything is an offshoot of science. Smart people question things, religion doesn't give a lot of answers, except god is responsible for everything.

Idiot.
Islam's basic declaration simply means that Islam's god is the only God.
Islam is the result of Muhammad's twisted view of Judaism and Christianity.
Established several hundred years after Christ, Islam promotes another god other then the God of the Bible.
Islam is an very twisted view of the sacred writings of Judaism and Christianity. It denies both the accuracy and veracity of scriptures that do not agree with the writings of their illiterate prophet.

Athesim=no belief in any diety.
Muslims believe in Allah / (different language) God... hence it can NOT be an offshoot.
Muslims, Jews & Christians are all considered Abrahamic religions with roots in the Old Testament.

lets break this down for you so its simple: atheists believe on no gods. islam has 1 god. that is still one too many for atheists.
now i could turn this argument around and say that atheism is an offshoot of christianity. or judisim. or any other monotheistic religion which believes that there is no god but our god

You're an idiot... Islam is an 'offshoot' of Christianity just like Christianity is an 'offshoot' of Judaism.
Do you know what a comma is used for? The evidence says NO.
