I can pronounce Spanish better then most learners. I've been looking how to pronounce certain letters/words better. But I still have my English accent. How does one pick up the Spanish accent?
I know doing little things makes you sound better:
-D->TH
-R->D
-B/Vs
-Just speaking faster (seems that when you speak faster, you sound more authentic, it always seems that way). It's the same in English. Speaking.......really.......slowly..........makes.......you.......sound..........new.......
But I can't pick up the accent. I live around Spanish speakers. I hear them all the time, and it definitely helps, but I don't have it down yet.
What are little tricks to sound more authentic?

I think you should watch a novela from the country you want to learn the accent from and try to imitate it. Good luck!

Don't worry about the accent. I have studied Spanish about 45 years and my accent will never be very good.
Just pronounce the words right is very important.
When you see a word like--Hijo--don't say --Hi Joe--
--D-- in latin America is like in English but often silent at the end of a word. --R-- roll it. --B and V. should be pronounced a like ,more like --B-- than--V.

try to avoid elongating vowels so much especailly if they are at the end of a word. i don't know if you have this problem, but many americans that are trying to learn spanish elongate the final vowels sometimes and that what makes them sound "american" for example when pronouncing "nosotros"(us) they pronounce it "nosoutrous", cuz they tend to elongate the o's but try avoiding this.

good luck.
