A wart is caused by this "harmless" virus and develops because the body doesn't consider it worth fighting. Eventually it does recognize and fight the virus, and the warts go away. The process can take 10 years or so sometimes.

I just had the same thing happen. I have had warts on my legs since I was 10 or 12 years old. Because they were on my legs, when I shaved, they spread. I had so many small worts I gave up on having them removed and just got used to them being there. After trying a topical cream a few months back, the warts became very itchy and inflamed which had never happened before. I stopped using the cream and tried my best to try not to itch. I few weeks ago I noticed that every wart I had, big small, old new, was just gone...blew my mind. I had just gotten used to them after the 15+ years that they had been around. Also, super happy they are gone!

When I was young I had one on my thumb and was very concerned about it. My dad told me it would be gone by the time I was 19, he was correct it disappeared right around my 19th birthday. They are caused from a virus I was told and they will go away on their own.

Maybe your hands without your knowledge had some unintended contact to silver nitrate or acidic substances from leaking batteries which removes your warts.

When I was a kid, I had warts bad. I had them removed and they came back. My step-mom told me to wish them away. I swear, I did and about two weeks later they were gone. Oh, by the way, she buried a potato in the back yard. I swear this is true! So maybe you wished them away! You never know!
