In the book of Exodus there are these magicians who are also capable of performing miracles, where did they get there powers from, the yellow sun maybe?

A lot of people are saying Satan, or demons but that doesn't make sense if the magicians got their powers from Satan, or Demons, then that would mean that they new that the Egyptian deities were false, and that the god of Abraham was true.

From demons. There are two sources of supernatural power --- God and demons. Demons always counterfeit what God does --- it usually looks really similar with just a change or two that keeps it from being the truth. Now, demons only have the power that God allows them to have, so notice how a few plagues in they stopped being able to mimic God's plagues. This principle applies to all demonic counterfeits --- there is *something* real that they are counterfeiting. For example, there is worldly numerology, used for divinination. Then there's the definitions that God gives numbers.

Everything involved in witchcraft is a copy of a miracle --- but the miracle has been made into a FORMULA. That is the problem. God is so creative that He rarely repeats Himself, and certainly never needs to. Whenever you see someone treating God like He's a vending machine, that is the spirit of witchcraft. The point is that we be very open to following the Spirit of God, and it is *never* formulaic.

Edit to add: People who are deceived don't know they are deceived. If you knew you were deceived, you wouldn't be deceived anymore, right? You'd know the truth and you'd walk in it. That's just like the Egyptions believing their false gods, which were no gods at all, were where the power was coming from. The Bible actually says that behind the idols that people worship are 'familiar spirits' --- that is, demons.

Magic actually is a Metaphysical Science. It is a study and the knowledge of the proper use of energies that are in the Universe. So, it is neutral. But, what makes the difference for those who use them is the intention and from which side one gets support, whether the Finer, which in the case of Moses - God, or the Gross, which in the case of Pharaoh's priests - the Dark Force. It seemed what happened there was a contest of which magic is more powerful - the white or the black magic.

Well, it is time for you to see how you can go metaphysical? There is nothing wrong with it as long as you do not destroy yourself or the world. Such power actually is everyones heritage.

The same place the Magi, astrologers or wise men got their star in the book of Matthew, and Jesus faced Satan in Rome Empire #6, Matt.4:1-11; 2Cor.4:3,4; 11:14; 1Pet.5:8; Satan controls world Empires Rev.17:10-14; Jesus was gone when John was still in Rome Empire #6, to write Revelations on Patmos, so that leave #7 and the 8th is of the seven [ seven heads and 10 horns and it is bigger than the whole world ];

Jude 9; Michael in Dan.12:1-13; at Rev.3,4,6-11,12; is in control of the time of the end, Satan's end situation.

OK, I'll answer this as best as I can. Laugh it off if you want to, but I am going to be as serious as all hell. When I lived over in Wales there were demons in my own house! If you want to know where those magicians got there power they got it from Satan. You may think OK fine there is no spiritual realm, but there is and what I expirienced over there in Wales is enough to put a rebelious 16 year old into a church. I know this stuff, Satan is a copyer of God and gaev those magicians the power to perform the plauges that happened in Egypt. don't belive me if you don't want to, but I'm right, the answer is Satan. Damn HIM!!!!

The Egyptians were one group that practiced the 64 arts and sciences. They used the elements (earth, fire, water, and air) to draw their powers. The word used today is (Siddhis) super-normal abilities. These were used to perform the illusions, that in those times were called magic.

Magic - is when the hand is quicker than the eye.
Illusion - is when the mind is quicker than the eye.

*** Moses and Aaron-Courageous Proclaimers of God's Word ***

Perplexed by this miracle, Pharaoh summoned his magic-practicing priests. With the help of demon powers, these men were able to do something similar with their own rods.

*** w96 1/15 p. 24 Moses and Aaron-Courageous Proclaimers of God's Word ***

The Hebrew word rendered "magic-practicing priests" refers to a group of sorcerers who claimed to possess supernatural powers beyond those of the demons. It was believed that these men could invoke the demons to obey and that the demons had no power over these sorcerers.

Pharoah served at the pleasure of satan, just as anti-christ will serve in the times of the end.

The power behind them all is satan.

They used black magic. The power that they drew from was from the devil. But they couldn't match every miracle that God did through Moses.

Well, if God was backing Moses and Aaron, then logically the magic-practicing priests got their power from Satan.

Satan and the demons are powerful.
