That's the way it was supposed to be, because God wanted it that way. Mankind is so messed up because people messed it up. The world wasn't made or meant to be perfect, but people need to try to be good.

When God made Adam and then made Eve so man would not be alone, they were in the garden of Eden.
This beautiful garden of Eden would have been our life without sin, until
God Blessed them and told them to be fruitful and multiply.
God told them every seed bearing plant and every tree that bears fruit was theirs. (God's plan for healthy living).
God told them they could eat from every tree but not the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, or they would surely die.
We know that Eve took the first bite of that Apple and then enticed Adam to eat.
Since they disrespected God and did what He said not to do, that is why the whole human race is so MESSED-UP.
It wasn't God it was Adam and Eve's fault. Now due to this sin Eve caused all women to have pain from the birth of a child.

Mankind is so messed up because they have refused to follow the word of God and obey His laws and rules.
So many have decided to make their own and it has made man messed up.
God is infallible and the One and Only, the Perfect, and Jesus His son was the only perfect man to walk this earth.
It was man's choices that have put themselves in this position.

Man was created with the ability to choose.
Man has chosen poorly.
Man should have agreed to do things God's way.

Deuteronomy 32:4-5 “The Rock, perfect is his activity, for all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness, with whom there is no injustice; Righteous and upright is he. They have acted ruinously on their own part; They are not his children, the defect is their own.”

A Christian will likely tell you that the entire world is messed up because of one single act of disobedience. Somehow, that one act by two humans in a tiny corner of the vast world was magically powerful enough to rewrite all the rules of the universe.
The idea is almost charming in its provincialism.
One does pause to wonder...how much sense does it make to grant an entity free will, only to curse them with horrible dooms when they dare to use it?
The whole thing really doesn't make much sense when you think about it objectively.

God is completely infalliable, and did create us in his own image, but he gave us free will. It is our choice to be so messed up.
Jesus proved to us that it is possible to go through life completely sinless...

God created man to be completely dependent upon God for his eternal well-being.
By sinning man alienated himself from God and was left to try to live life on his own.
In this the record shows he has failed miserably.
Only by being re-united to God through the new birth, spiritual birth, which comes through faith in Jesus Christ is man able to be restored to the image and likeness of God from which he has so terribly strayed.

Because when Adam and Eve decided to listen to Satan instead of God they were saying THEY knew what was best for them and their family-to-be. They rejected the Sovereignty of Jehovah God and we have had to pay the price. We cannot rule ourselves. "Man has dominated man to his injury"... and even though governments may have the best of intentions, they cannot cure corrupt mankind or things like sickness and death or even greed....
