I can not take anything for pain. Is there something wrong with me? I could not find the tylenol and took 2 aspirin instead. I have never been allergic to aspirin before. I broke out in hives. My hands itched and my face and the skin on my head swelled badly.
My eyelids were the worse.

I hope you aren't someone with frequent pain! I'm not allergic to these things, but I know that many people are allergic to aspirin, and its very common for people with asthma and chronic sinus problems to be allergic to aspirin and drugs like Alleve and ibuprofen.

It might be a good idea to see an allergist - the active ingredient in aspirin is salicylic acid, which occurs naturally in lots of different foods and heathcare products. Its very hard to avoid exposure to salicylic acid and related chemicals. The reaction you had to aspirin was pretty severe, and you could possibly have a similar reaction or worse eating something that has salicylic acid in it, or by using sunscreen or other some other skin care product. People that have reactions like yours are often advised to carry epinepherine for emergencies. You reaction sounds very close to level where anaphylactic shock occurs.

People can become desensitized to aspirin to reduce the risks of accidental exposure and a dangerous allergic reaction - this is a really good idea for someone in your situation.

HI Chloe

I actually dont see this as a bad thing. In truth I see it as very beneficial to you. Pain in the body is the indicator that you have an issue to deal with. Sounds simple, but people don't deal with pain. We are conditioned to take a drug and the pain will disappear, but the actual issue will not. That is what people don't understand (including doctors). Suppression (taking drugs) of any sanctum of the body causes it to take the next issue with your body to a bigger problem. Suppress enough headaches, then you have migraines, suppress those and you have a disease, suppress that and you have a cancer, ect. Same story applies for any issue.

I have been educating people for years and if you are sick/in pain you need to detoxify the body by letting it rest for at least a week. Eat fruits and veggies (live foods) for a week (better yet juice them) and you will feel better before you know it. ALso, do a colon cleanse because the toxins in the body hang out there and when people dont have regular bowel movements (30 minutes after each meal), the toxins get in the blood. Illness and disease then occur.

Being dehydrated and stress are also factors causing back pain. Be sure to drink at least a gallon of distilled water a day (I do).

Best of health to you
