If your planning on playing almost all of your ps1 and 2 game I highly recommend you get your 60 gig ps3. The 80 gig will play some of your ps1 and 2 game but not as much and the 40 gig just coming out won't be offering that feature. The 60 gig is right on the money when you compare the ps3 console it also offer the wireless internet and the memory card slots and everything that you would want and need.

Only the older PS3's play PS2 games, like the original 60gig, and the slightly older 80gig. They are the ones with four USB ports, you would probably have to get one second hand. All PS3's play PS1 games. Buying anything like a PS3 or computer from ebay, is a risk, you might get a brilliant bargain, or you might get a box full of bricks, lol, so I would recommend you buy a new one if you can, and keep your PS2 for your PS2 games:)

Yes they do and you can even create like a program that is like a memory card of a PS2 the bad new is that you have start every game again or you can yest buy an adapter to conect the memory card directly to your PS3

40gb-No
60gb-Yes, hardware, so all games work
80gb-Yes, software, so not all games (80% and growing)
