How can we know we are saved?

Good question because back when I was in Oak Grove, KY at Maranatha Baptist Church. There were two men that to me and everyone else seemed like they were saved. But during a revival one day they came to, and realized they were just living a lie. Although they were still serving the Lord, and doing His work, they just didn't know Him. My Pastor always said "Do you know Him?" I think it is fairly simple on our salvation. First we believe that God is real, than we realize that we are sinners and are condemned to hell, Romans 6:23. Now that we understand this we want to be forgiven right? Well we just look to God in prayer and ask for it. I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

So as you see it doesn't matter what sin it is, He will forgive all sins. Than we must believe that Jesus Christ was sent to die on the cross for us. Sorry If I got out of order, was than raised 3 days later and is now on the right hand of God making intercession for us. John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me"

If you truly mean these things, and believe these things than you are saved.

Consider 1 John 5:11-13 (NLT): "And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. So whoever has God's Son has life; whoever does not have his Son does not have life. I write this to you who believe in the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life." Who is it that has the Son? Those who have believed in Him and accepted Him (John 1:12). If you have Jesus, you have life. Eternal life. Not temporary, but eternal.

God wants us to have assurance of our salvation. We cannot live our Christian lives wondering and worrying each day whether we are truly saved or not. That is why the Bible makes the plan of salvation so clear. Believe in Jesus Christ and you will be saved (John 3:16; Acts 16:31). Do you believe that Jesus is the Savior, that He died to pay the penalty for your sins (Romans 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:21)? Are you trusting Him alone for salvation? If your answer is yes, you are saved! Assurance means to "put beyond all doubt." By taking God's Word to heart, you can "put beyond all doubt" the fact and reality of your eternal salvation.

Do you desire to be wholly committed to the Lord Jesus Christ and serve Him? Are you constantly battling sin in order to "be pure as He is pure" because you long to please Him? if you are doing these things then i think you can be sure of your salvation. Yeah, you might fail, but you need to understand, the entirety of your salvation does not depend on what you can do for God, but what He has already done for you on the cross when He offered Himself up on the cross that the world might go free. As long as you believe the Cross and resurrection of Christ was enough, then you can definitely be sure you will behold Him in all of His glory when you stand before Him in the last day! see you there!
oh yeah, and Paul says in 2 Timothy chapter 1 i think, "I know in whom I have believed, and i am confident He is able to keep what i have committed to Him until the last day"

Well we can't trust our hearts because they are wicked. (Jer. 17:9)

God says that salvation is a gift. (Eph. 2:8-9)

For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. Rom. 11:29

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were SEALED for the day of redemption. Eph. 4:30

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will COMPLETE it until the day of Jesus Christ. Phil. 1:6

God can't lie. Titus 1:2

Those quoting Matt 7 are taking it out of context. Matt. 7 is talking about false prophets and false converts those quoting blasphemy of the Holy Spirit need to do a little more research. Christians can't commit this sin. There is no example of it in the Bible. Only unbelievers can commit this. This is what the Pharisees of Jesus' day did.

First of all we don't accept Christ to live. That is a misconception. God accepted Christ's sacrifice as full and complete for every living person. All we must do is believe. The way back to God is by faith because the first sin was Eve not beliving what God said, and instead belived the lie of the serpent. That is why beliveing what God has said,in faith is the wy back.

We cannot know that we ARE saved. But we can know what the Bible tells us - that if we remain faithful until the end, we WILL be saved. Paul tells us that earthly life is a like a race which we must run well if we expect to receive the prize - salvation. Paul used this analogy because everyone knows you don't receive the prize in the middle of a race. You receive it immediately after the race is over. Anyone who thinks he is already "saved" and that his place in heaven is assured, is right where the enemy wants him to be. Who would waste time "working out his salvation" as the Word of God instructs us to do, if he thinks he already has it?

Romans 10:9 and 10
John 3:16

The only unforgivable sin is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit

Yes.

(Acts 17:30-31) [Jehovah God] is telling mankind that they should all everywhere repent. Because he has set a day in which he purposes to judge the inhabited earth in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and he has furnished a guarantee to all men in that [Jehovah] has resurrected [Jesus] from the dead.

True Christians (such as Jehovah's Witnesses) understand faith to be the primary thing for a Christian, but they also understand that professed "faith" is not a license for a sinner to continue to indulge his sin.

(Matthew 7:20-23) Really, then, by their fruits you will recognize... “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness.

One's faith must have SOME effect on the individual's personality and lifecourse. The Scriptures quite plainly explain that humans can disqualify themselves from receiving everlasting life; it is only the faithful COMPLETION of a life course that assures salvation. [Emphasis added to citations below.]

(Zephaniah 2:3) Seek Jehovah, all you meek ones of the earth, who have practiced His own judicial decision. Seek righteousness, seek meekness. PROBABLY you may be concealed in the day of Jehovah's anger.

(Amos 5:15) Hate what is bad, and love what is good, and give justice a place in the gate. It MAY be that Jehovah the God of armies will show favor

(Matthew 7:13-14) Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; 14 whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.

(Matthew 24:13) But he that has endured TO THE END is the one that will be saved.

(Philippians 2:12) Keep WORKING OUT your own salvation with fear and trembling

(Hebrews 10:26-27) For if we practice sin willfully after having received the accurate knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice for sins left, 27 but there is a certain fearful expectation of judgment

(Hebrews 5:9) [Jesus] became responsible for everlasting salvation to all those OBEYING him

(James 2:14,17) Of what benefit is it, my brothers, if a certain one says he has faith but he does not have works? That faith cannot save him, can it? ...17 Thus, too, faith, if it does not have works, is dead in itself.

There is no assurance of salvation, there is no proof that God even exists that is verifiable and that can be prooved scientifically or even independently.
