All the alcohol is always at the bottom of the glass. Or maybe I just don't notice the difference at that point..... :)

Scientifically speaking, vodka should float in water and orange juice. Not really sure what all you put in a screw driver. Besides, why let it sit?

It stays a solution so long as it has been stirred. Most people are thinking it sinks because they have ice in the glass, ice melts were it is. Ice floats therefore leaving more water on the top of the drink.

the alcohol should sink to the bottom. for example a screwdriver. vodka is more dense than orange juice. if you really want to collect alcohol, put some fruit in the bottom of your glass

It will stay in solution, neither sinking nor floating. The solid part of the orange juice (pulp) may eventually settle out but not the alcohol.

Well, the alchohol itself has the same density as, for example, as soda. If you make a mixed soda and whiskey drink the alcohol should stay thouroughly amongst the liquid. As for vodka, I am not sure, I don't know it's density.

I think it will depend on whether it is lighter or heavier than the other ingredients.
