So I went away on business for about 10 days and my battery was dead in my BRAND new car. This happened again about a week ago when I went away again I do have one of those IPod transmitters that plugs into the cig lighter, BUT there was no IPod in the transmitter either time. What do you think would be draining the power on a NEW CAR? I want to make sure its not my fault before I call the dealer

Your going to have to help the dealer mechanics by leaving your I-pod transmitter in with out the pod.It may be the parasitic draw on the system. I have replaced some poorly manufactured battery's that might be all it takes. Make sure you tell them the car died in ten days. Sometimes there is another drain in the system. Small loads over long time kill car battery's. Car battery's like short high loads like cranking and quick recharging. Either the mechanic will use an Milli Amp meter in line with the battery or a low impedance test light and start disconnecting fuses one at a time to find the circuit that has the drain/draw parasitic load on it. This might take some time if it is not the transmitter so have your credit and insurance card so they can get you a rent car if they have to keep your Xterria overnight. Your new trucklet is just upset you did not take it on the road trip!

Can be few things causing problem , one may be someone
using it and some how causing problem. Or there complicating problem in the vehicle plus check for recalls in
that type car by year and type for problem . But i suggest
you talk someone as in mechanic soon as possible it
can,t hurt to ask about problem.
