I know its healthy to donate blood, cuz it makes your body work to replace it. But what are the exact benefits, ie weight loss, muscle growth, less cholesteral?

Its supposed to be the equivilent of working out, because it makes our bodies produce blood at a faster rate and clears out toxins...but Im not sure how exactly I benefit from that...

This isnt turning out like I was thinking lol...Im not just thinking of myself, Im happy Im saving peoplesl ives, I jsut want to know if theres a health benefit because I've been told by several people different htings

The only real benefit is helping to save some one else. Nothing more, nothing less. If you want to only help yourself, then you are looking in the wrong direction. I hope you help save some one els, like I do.

It is healthy to donate your blood but NOT regularly. Doctors usually suggest a gap of 6 months before you donate blood again. Mainly because the blood takes 6 months (ofcourse depending on the amount you donate) to replenish and NOT 48 hrs. The main reason for donating blood is because you will be replenishing your blood with new blood cells that are fresh and healthy. The new blood cells will be able to hold oxygen better.

There aren't benefits to making your body produce blood faster than it normally does. You're supposed to have the blood that's in your body, which regenerates itself at it's own natural pace.

It is good for OTHER people! We still can't manufacture blood or blood products reliably.
