Take one cup of white crisco, start cutting in a 2lb bag size of powdered sugar, once that is all mixed in, yes it will be almost just like powdered sugar again, add about 4 tsp or so of vanilla. I use clear so it doesnt tint the frosting, then add 5 to 7 tablespoons of milk untill you have the thickness you want. i make this when i am using it to decorate cakes, and everyone one loves it! you can cut it in half if you dont need this much. it makes about 6 cups.

I normally make a vanilla butter cream frosting.
1/3 cup butter
3 cups powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
about 3 Tbs. milk
Cream together butter and powdered sugar. Add vanilla and milk. Beat until smooth and of spreading consistency. If too thick, add a little more milk. If too thin, refrigerate and then beat again.
Enough for double layer cake or 13x9 pan.

Well take two cups of powdered sugar and a dash of milk. Blend on low. It should be the consistency of a glaze. If it falls from your spoon like a heavy liquid then you are goo. I f you need to you can always add some more milk. It goes perfect on a lemon sponge cake!

All those recipes are good. Another one I do is the same as the crisco or buttercream recipe, but I use cream cheese for the fat.
Oh, and you have to let it soften at room temp, that buttercream recipe too, let the butter get soft, but not runny.
