best type of hairgel/spray?

Ok i used to use number 10 hair gel and spike my hair . I went down to 8 and i still have the same look . My hair looks good without hair gel.. so i am trying to comb my hair to the top without making it look like i used gel. I saw some guys with that look and i really dont have experience with hair spray or whatever they use . what should i use ??

Well, I'm not an expert on hairgels and hairsprays, as most girls aren't. But I use Shockwave. I don't know if it's good or bad compared to other brands, because I've never tried any others, but you could try it out?
