Id like an explanation please. We've had airplanes for 100 years now... Where the hell is my sci-fi stuff? Dont gimme any fluff promises of nano-bots dusting my house. Where's my freaking laser gun?

Predictions of the future are notoriously wrong. You're talking about the futures predicted in the 70s (lightsabers)) and 50s (jet packs). What do we have instead? The i-phone, the internet, incredible knowledge of DNA and the Universe, cures for some forms of cancer, a way to keep people with AIDS alive for a long time. Believe me, even without the gadgets you've described, we've come a long way.

Watch Phones are for geeks, it is hard to watch a movie on a watch, Blackberry's are better. Why do you need a Jetpack when you have IM, Lightsaber came from a galaxy far far away and long time ago. You can't find a laser gun?
