Because they believe the word of God that says that if you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ was born , was crucified for the payment of every man, woman, and child's sin ,and died but rose from the dead and now sits at the right hand of God, then you will be saved from an eternity in hell. Religion is the law filled group that can complicate this truth. Religion can't save anyone. It can only lead people to the truth.The word of God is the undisputed truth that religion has to check themselves by.

Only the Blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ God Almighty will save. Religion is man made, not God made. Jesus established a "Church", not a religion

Everyone likes something to believe in. Suppose it gives them great comfort to think that their belief will save them.

Something has too, afterall they are too lazy to do it themselves. You have the drunk and drug addict who yell out that "Jesus" saved them one year avoiding the treatment for their disease, only to see them years later "DEAD," then you have a preacher who used to be a heroin addict proclaiming to be Jesus Christ for all he did was trade in one delusion for another. How about the christians who proclaim they are "saved" by the blood of Jesus and their sins washed away by being crucified. Does it really take BRAINS to see how stupid this all sounds ? If GOD is so stupid as to have his Son MURDERED to relieve the ignorant faithful of responsibility for their own bad behaviors then I would say I want NOTHING to do with HEAVEN or this GOD. But I am ASSURED that the TRUE Lord in heaven is not this stupid ILLUSION put out by the religious and it is SAD that people degrade him in this way.

Conversely, why don't you think religion will save you? People believe different things for different reasons, that's all there is to it. You get a choice... you can be religious, agnostic, atheist, whatever. The choice is yours for whatever reason you have.

because they are frightened of things that they can't control and pretend that their best friend in heaven has control, so all they've got to do is suck his @ss and he will protect them. Sensible people just get on with their lives.

I live my life and enjoy it. Eventually I will age and die. It happens to everyone and everything.

I believe in Salvation by faith, through the grace of God via the Christ Jesus. I have prayed for miracles and seen their work in my own life. What better reason would there be for belief that having God touch your heart and your life?
