A good place to buy is BlueJeans. I am using one of their $38 cables for the 10 ft run to my TV. They use Belden wires and claim they can go 50 ft or more.

Yes, each device needs it's own cable.

Yes...that cable is perfectly fine for your needs. Don't buy into the hype. Even the newest most expensive HDMI cables from a company like Monster is ridiculously OVERPRICED, AND OVERKILL. They claim they can handle up to 10.2 Gb/s. The fact is NOTHING on the market, not even Blu-Ray uses even half that bandwidth yet, and it will be a looooooooong time before anything does. By then who knows if they will even be using HDMI cables. If you want to save even more money find a Big Lots store and see if they have them in stock. They don't always have them, but when they do they are unbelievably cheap. Here is a link to their store locator. http://www.biglots.com/ Yes… it is definitely worth using an HDMI cable on your X box if it supports it, and you have another HDMI input on your TV. That way you are retaining the digital signal. When you use the Component cables (Red, Blue, and Green) the signal is converted from digital to analog. What you will notice is the colors will look more natural with an HDMI Cable, and will be less saturated.

I am using a $15 HDMI cable from walmart, and looks great. Even when compared next to the $80+ monster cable that my cousin bought for his tv. HDMI cables are VERY overpriced for nothing. Don't listen to the salesman at Best buy or circuit city.

RCA, GE, AXIS, Ultralink brands make great HDMI cables for $50 or less.
