Not in the US Army, you need permanent residence, citizenship or a Green Card.
As for the British Army, you need to be a citizen of Britain, Ireland or any Commonwealth nation at the very least. For instance, Australians, New Zealanders, Zimbabweans, Fijians and Canadians can enlist in the British Army, among many other nationalities - however, you need to travel to and from the United Kingdom at your own expense for the application process.

It depends on what country you are from, if it is a British Commonwealth country, then you can sign up at a British consulate or embassy. You cannot ask to go to a specific theatre of action, this depends on wether or not your unit is slated to go there. As an ex British soldier, who has seen a lot of action, I suggest you think long and hard before you sign up. War is not the glorious thing you see on TV, and there is a lot of training and down times, with out action. Also it is hazardous to your health, it can cause DEATH.

Not possible - there is no such thing as a UK army.
UNLESS you`re a "citizen" of a British Commonwealth country OR the UK itself you cannot join the British Army.
You must be a citizen of the USA or one of the islands that they claim are theirs (e.g. Puerto Rico ,Guam etc.) to join the US military.

Well then Alan,
as you are not a citizen of the U.K. or U.S.A you CAN NOT join our military.
You are probably looking for a free entry into one or the other of those countries and its ACCESS DENIED.
