Sometimes i have to guide people around the store , back and forth carrying things , and if not those things , i have to stand at the register for about 7 hrs straight. Which is more often. I don't have much of a problem about walking around , cause i used to work at a diner running back and forth for 10 hrs , But its the standing in one spot for so long, My feet are killing me , plus this is my part- time job , I have a full time job as well , i am trying everything i can to clear all my debt as i have to much. But what can i do for the pain in the feet , its horrible. I have insoles(gellies), i bought sneakers a size bigger. Do you think weight is an issue. I am not obese but i think i am slightly overweight for my height. The crazy thing is that my body is not even that exhausted, it should'nt be , i am only 24, its only my feet , please help..

Do they have a thick rubber mat for you to stand on? If not request one. Also I always wondered why they dont allow cashiers to sit on a littel stool. When you get home soak your feet in a hot water and ask your loved one to rub cream on them. You might invest in some comfortable shoes, might be worth it in the long run. My husband always told me you get what you pay for, so if your wearing inexpensive shoes....invest!

Request a rubber floor mat for starters. They're thick, and although they look weird, they relieve so much pressure off your entire body from standing all day.

Also, wearing good shoes helps, as does thick insoles, like you're wearing now.

If you're really having problems, you can always ask your doctor to advise you on ways to relieve this pain.

And for the no stools thing...it's a customer service issue. It looks unprofessional for a person in a customer service position to be sitting down when helping a customer (at least for a job like that). I'm a cashier at a museum, and while we have chairs to sit in, we're required to stand when customers approach us. Our gift shop staff aren't even allowed to have chairs.

Crazy as it sounds. I am overweight and have found relief wearing the magnetic insoles in my shoes. Don't ask me why, but it seems to help. My Dr. also has told me, when possible, to make sure one foot is resting higher than the other.
