I thoroughly repent not only my sins but my entire life to the point where I don't long for a single extra day on this planet. I remain here only because I long for the justice that doesn't happen in the human arena. I repent my ugly, sinful ways but I am having a very difficult time summoning the will to be happy while living on this terrible world of death, decay, and violence where every thing that seems good is not what it seems and where every beauty just might be a lie. This is just the way it looks to me no matter how far I search and no matter how much I wish it could be otherwise.
Will Jesus accept my repentance despite my lack of cheer or am I not God material?

I have a hard time seeing anything I try to do as a "good work" because I often suspect that I screwed it up.

First off, we do nothing to be saved, it is totally by God's grace. If you have repented of sin, then it is a good indicator that you are of the elect, since a hardened unbeliever will not acknowledge their depravity. Yes, we live in a fallen, sinful world. I tend to like a statement made by one of my favorite pastors, "I have enjoyed about enough of this world as I can stand". We are not to seek joy or happiness in this world, although God may bless us with both from events and people in this world. Our ultimate joy and happiness comes from pleasing Him and looking forward to the promise to come. If you want a measure of joy and happiness in this world, die to self, live for others. Give, instead seeking to receive, be a joy to others, reach out to those in need. Be the Christian. Do not dwell on yourself, your problems or the sinful world, be the Christian to those around you. Let them see the light of Christ flowing from you.

Im so sorry to hear about your cat. God has u still here for a reason. There already are alot of good answers, but I could suggest finding some inspirational books to read. Seems like you need to change your perspectives. Easier said than done sometimes, but just hold on 2 God's unchanging hand and enjoy the ride. And although your heart is heavy right now, try your best 2 be grateful. In Peace

If you base your religion and salvation only on repentance, then your not living up to your faith. Jesus WILL forgive your sins as long as you know you did them and it is wrong. But, he also told you to follow Him and do his good works.
To give you an analogy, If you keep saying sorry to someone, wouldn't that person get sick of it? Im not saying Jesus will get sick of you, because he loves you unconditionally. I'm saying that you try to make yourself better and improve yourself. God doesn't care what you did in the past, As long as you ask Him to forgive that. He cares about what is happening to you tight now.
Also, true Christianity is all about UNIVERSALITY. To be open to God and all His works. If you are an open person, you would know that God is leading you to a better life. You may have many difficulties gettin there, but He knows you will get there...Not in the way YOU plan, but the way HE plans.
If you need more insight on this, you should definately read this book...It's 139 pages so it isn't long. But it's called:
The Journey to Truth is an Experience by Luigi Giussani. It focuses on the REAL meaning of christianity and how to live life on reflecting on your experiances and opening to the fact that God is trying to show you something. It trly depicts real human experiances and how WE live life. Go check it out

All fall short of the glory of God.
None of us are God material. Not initially. That's what's so great about God. He loves us anyway.
Repent your sins with sincerity and do your best to not be a "repeat offender". Talk to God often. It helps so much. And don't talk to Him as if He were some lofty king, talk to him as if He were your best friend. Talking to God everyday is a very good habit to have. It will keep you on the right path.
I know the state of the world is dejecting. Turn off the news. Put down the newspaper. Cut off the radio. Go out and serve your fellow man.

There is no such think as "God material" everyone is equal in God's eyes and nobody is "more righteous" than the next guy. That includes priest, pastors, etc... If you want to get saved then you can. You can go to church and they usually have time after service where they call people up to the altar and they will ask you if you would like to be saved. However, if you are not willing to be saved then you shouldn't and wait until you're ready.

Jesus will be overjoyed that you have made the decision to accept his gift of salvation, you might even find out that by accepting Jesus your life might turn around and God may use you to accomplish good things, all threw out the bible. God not only accepted but used the most unlikely people to do his work. and in return for your good service you will receive rewards in heaven

Beloved, If you have a repentant heart, and you truly accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then you will be saved. You will be Born again, and He will give you a NEW HEART! You will be a new creature in Christ! Of course, He will accept you. You have to open your heart and accept Him, though. He stands at the door and knocks. It's up to you to let Him in. I pray that you do! God Bless

The fundamentalist christian belief that only they will "go to heaven' is complete and utter BS. It sounds to me, btw, that you have been very successfully brainwashed by your "religion".
Give up all of the guilt and repentance crap --it's all merely a scam to keep you feeling guilty and to keep you disempowered.
If you're feeling overwhelmed by it all, see a counselor, and definitely NOT one associated with your "church". See a real one with a Ph.D or M.D. degree.
Finally, God loves all his children equally, no matter what their religion, etc. And when the time comes He will see that you're treated properly. Good Luck :))

There is a spark of God in every man and every creation. In the beginning, which is impossible to conceive, there was only God. So if there is anything that exist it had to come from all that was, is and shall be. The only salvation we need is to save ourselves from our selves. He says that we were predestined and for ordained. So I would not worry to much about your salvation, it has already been taken care of.
