Wiccans and other Pagans, what is the best way to glorify and honor the Goddess and the God?

As always, thank you to everyone who takes the time to answer.

raainwitch1, thank you for the suggestions. :-) I've been Wiccan for 14 years so I'm confident in my own means of glorifying and honoring Them -- I was just curious to see how others go about it in their own lives.

Well my friend, as a devout polytheist (Asatruar), I have to respond to your question by asking... "which ones?" ;)

For example:

I'd honor Odin and Frigga by burning runes I'd made myself after cleaning my house from top to bottom.

I'd honor Thor and Sif with great feasting and drinking... and possibly a contest to see who could throw a sledgehammer the farthest.

I'd honor Freyr or Freyja with a carving of their battle boars, Gullinbursti and Hildsvini... and by making love to my partner.

I'd honor Idunna and Bragi with fresh apples or cider and some skaldic song or verse.

*grin*

Well, I'm not a duotheist/henotheist, so I don't see it as clear-cut as Goddess and God. However, for me it depends on what the individual deity prefers. While I work primarily with totems and animal spirits, I do have relationships with a few deities, and each one prefers certain offerings or other gifts.

The totems tend to like when I do things to help their physical counterparts, so I do a fair bit of activist magic, as well as keeping people informed of environmental issues.

Personally I think the best way to do that is to follow the Wiccan Rede: "An ye harm none do as ye will". Just living everyday doing your best not harm anyone or anything else. being an example to others by being kind, understanding, patient etc. And also by working against things that we know are hurting others like pollution, violence, etc.

Ask them. Sit and meditate on it. If you were the Goddess or the God, how would you want to be honored? I like the first two answers, too. They're not going to get mad if you do it "wrong", so no worries. Follow your heart!

We each need to meditate on it, examine ourselves and find that most unique thing about ourselves that WE can do but no one else can, and then DO it. Do it To honor Goddess and God and ONLY to honor them, not butter them up to seek a boon, later. Do it simply to honor them.

We must be proud of our pagan God & Godess and develop that pride in our children too.I think that is a means to glorify and honour.

To put it in the silliest possible way:

BE A TREE HUGGING HIPPY-GREENIE!!!

To protect, honour and respect our Mother and Father Nature is the best way to do it!
Make people aware of Environmental issues, switch to green/renewable energy, use carbon off-sets, recycle ETC ETC ETC.

The Earth is our Mother. You only get one!
