once they put the needle in it takes like 5 seconds. They attach a tube that has nothing inside (like no air... so its a vaccum) and it fills up real quick.

I can not tell you the time for the amount of blood however I can say that I would worry less about the blood coming out and more on the needle.
Now that should hurt for less than 3 seconds .. After that it is all downhill.
I think you can do 3 seconds... You will be ok.. after it is over you will think back as that was not so bad.
Good Luck.

From the time they put the rubber band around your arm it will take maybe a minute. It is not bad. The put an elastic/rubber band on your upper arm. Rub feel for a vein and clean it with alcohol and the take your blood quickly and it is over and done. There is nothing to be scared about as it is very quick.

Once they have the syringe in place it will take 45 seconds or less to draw the blood they need. It depends on the viscocity of your blood and how hydrated you are.
Make sure to drink plenty of water before you go in to get the draw, it will make the process faster.

I have given blood many times. If the people are good it will be quick and painless. Needles don't bother me so that might be why it is painless to me. But if you get a person who is new or don't know what they are doing it might take them a few pokes. Once it took them 3 tries but didn't bother me. Good luck.

you mean how long does it take to draw 5ml (of blood)? less than 10 seconds! 5ml is only one vacu-vile, so it is a very small amount... there shouldn't be any after effects!
don't worry about it... you'll be just fine!

5 ml is about a teaspoon. It should take a minute or two to do the whole procedure. Just relax and look away if it bothers you. It's really nothing to be scared about :-)

Just a few seconds. If you don't like needles, ask the nurse to use a butterfly needle (the type used on babies). You'll hardly feel a thing.
