The last televised junk science I recently viewed was about the "Big Rip", In other words, the universe will reach it's limit of expansion and all matter will be torn asunder. If that can make the DIscovery Channel, my Theory Of Creation should be a shoe in. Your thoughts.

thewolfs (below) Why do you doubt me? If you ever travel the friendly skies, my "credentials" have kept you from falling out of the sky. They have also protected you from having this country invaded.

Why do you call it junk? What are your scientific credentials other than you read a book written the the bronze age and accepted it as fact? The theory is based on mathematics while yours is based on superstitions so you'll have more trouble than you assume you will.

EDIT: That doesn't sound like a theoretical physics degree to me and bringing up keeping this country from being invaded has no relevance to this debate. My blood and sweat have done the same thing yet it doesn't qualify me as a mathematician.

Doubtful. Question: Does your theory make predictions, which can then be tested? (And testing can be done about the future as much as about the past, to understand "how" things change).
If what you claim cannot be tested, then it is not science. What you claim may be a myth, a fable, or just a belief. But it is not science.

Science must face the possibility of being "wrong" in order to become more effective at explaining how things work (and maybe even "why" things happen the way they do). That is what testing can provide, and religious dogma cannot stand up to serious testing.

You cannot subject creation to the scientific method. Therefore it cannot be a theory.

I believe in God's creation (through scientific discoveries). I'm just giving you the straight dope on what makes a theory.

No. The difference is that the big rip theory is backed up by some evidence. It's only one of many theories, but the fact of the matter is it that it has evidence backing it up. Creation has never had, nor will it ever have any evidence whatsoever.

Make sure you have the animal pair trading cards and fuzzy Noah's arks made so you can at least cash in on our society's stupidity and inability to define rational science with anything but secular humanism.

Creation has no basis in fact, it's all Bible BS. Things like the Big Rip at least have some credible science behind them. And if you don't know what credible science is, look it up.
