Drug addiction is so powerful that even if they want to help themseves and quit. it is a long painfull battel for all involved. fyi-help is available to friends and family of an addict whether or not the addict wants help.

You cant make someone want to quit - they have to want to really, really, really want to quit....
Why? the drug is more powerful than you are.
And thats all there is to it.
