Neither. It's just a collection of fanciful myths and stories. It doesn't even have that much historical accuracy.

Both science and history depend on facts, or at least our understanding of them. So in order to determine if the bible is scientific or historical, you need to compare it against the know facts. Creation has no evidence for it and does not fit the facts either the fossil record or others. The same could be said for the flood and the very long original life spans. The bible does seem to be accurate about locations and various civilizations, but this is also true of fiction books.

Neither... It is culturally historic. It was written from the Jewish point of view in the OT. It only included 4 of 30 something gospels in the NT. It is a biased historical document written with the assumption that the people who wrote it knew the will of an all-powerful imaginary being.

You are joking right? There is not a single shred of scientific information in the bible. The accuracy of the historical content is questionable as well.

Both. Historically it is mainly a history of the Jewish people with enough prophesy thrown in to prove that it was written by God when you see it come to pass. As far as science goes you have to remember that science is attempting to explain the work and order that God placed in this system and then write equations that make it usable. When there seems to be a contradiction you better examine the assumptions by science. This is not true science. I am not against science per say, it has made our life easier, but I will not accept unproven assumptions to disprove God.

Any book that claims the sun stopped in the sky is clearly not a scientific reference.

it is not scientific in the least.

it does contain some historical references that can be corroborated, but others that defy credibility.

it is mostly theologic (at best), and should not be taken too seriously in other disciplines.

It's fictional. It may have some literary value, but I think that's it.
