I have this surge protector for my electronics and when i have my surge protector on...the "surge" light is on(Color Red). When i tried sticking it at another wall the light is off but my electronics are still on. Im not sure what this surge light means? Should the "surge" light be on or off? thanks

That depends upon what you bought. If you cannot find the instructions, then you should get another surge suppressor and keep the instructions. They do go bad sometimes. On one model, the light means it is working. On another model, the light means that it quit working. On yet another model, the light only means that there is power to the device. Good luck! Check the website of the company that made the suppressor.

It depends on the model. The surge light doesnt indicate a surge, just whether the surge protection is any good. After a few years a surge protector loses its ability to absorb a power surge. When this happens the light might turn on, or turn off depending on the model.

My surge protector has a green light and a red light. The green one means everything is ok. If the light is only on when you plug it into that specific wall, I would guess it's better to plug it in somewhere else.

Why are there no instructions to explain the lights?
