My grandfather was. He taught me the faith from an early age. He was a good Christian and a good man.

We all had the same one in my Confirmation class years ago.

Some places permit proxy sponsors for confirmed practicing Catholics who cannot be present. A sponsor need not be a relative.

You could ask one of your past CCD teachers.

Are you practicing? If not wait until you are and have a believing friendship with Christ as Lord and Savior

My godparents were my confirmation sponsors as well. I'm sure that any good practicing Catholic will do. Ask your parents for suggestions. They probably have a few.

I became a Catholic as an adult and my sponsor was a wonderful lady from my church who really stood by me through the whole process.

I would say to pick someone from your church that you feel close to and look up to as a Christian.

My Godmother (aunt) was my sponsor. I haven't thought of that in years since I'm not Catholic anymore.
