I just bought an HDMI switcher from best buy terk is the model. I bought it so i could use HDMI instead of HD cables. But does using an HDMI switcher hurt the tv's resolution since it has to go into the switcher than into the tv? Help

No. The ones and zeros get through perfectly.

However - the switchers do cause delays and trouble some times.

Switching from one source to another is like rebooting your DSL modem. There is a few seconds of delay while the TV re-connects to the new device.

I have a Psychlone switch from BestBuy and discovered that my BluRay player works fine for a few minutes, then the TV looses signal. I have to use the switch to click somewhere else, then back and the signals eventually works - for about 5 minutes.

So you dont loose resolution/quality, but other odd problems crop up.

Note: I just updated the firmware on my BluRay player so this might solve the problem. Just be aware that things are not as simple with HDMI as you might think.

If it's a good switcher, no, it won't hurt the signal. Anything from best buy is most likely fine.
