Sin in my presence all you want, it's kind of a turn on for me--seems to mee God is kinda sissified and squeamish if he can't tolerate the presence of sin--think about it, LYING is a sin--eating shellfish is a sin, wearing clothing of mixed fibers--if you can't handle seeing ANY sins, you're kind of, umm, gee, what's the word? PATHETIC!

Not being religious it is kind of a stretch to have to think in those terms, but your point has no logic to it, so here goes...

If God could not tolerate (which is not the same as condoning) the presence of sin we would not exist - his tolerance is proven by the fact that we have free will.

However since sin is just another word for selfishness, and when we are selfish it is we who cannot tolerate the presence of God because we don't like to admit that we are being selfish - because then we might have to stop being selfish.

So as long as we choose to ignore that point we stay as far away from the idea of God as we can.

(God being the name we give to that which we don't understand - namely - how we and everything else came to be, how can we make judgments about that which we -by definition- don't understand, again, not logical thinking.)

Staying away from the idea of God poses a problem since everything that exists is inside God (the unknown) anyway. Thus we create complexes upon complexes to try to hide our own selfishness (sin) from ourselves, which isn't really possible so trying can make us very disturbed.

Jesus simplified the complicated laws which had been devised to "the law is ONE - love God your father with your whole heart and love your neighbor as yourself for the love of God", which encompasses all ten commandments but keeps it simple to avoid the confusion that had developed with all the complicated versions of the commandments devised by the political manipulators who were in control.

Those who got his point had their minds straightened out from that confusion - and lost their fear of those political manipulators - who then tried to get it back by killing Jesus. As we can see - they were way too successful.

Your other points about shellfish etc - well you are right - it is pathetic that people could be so gullible and not see through that nonsense - but of course that has nothing to with God.

God tolerates sin all the time. He lets mankind dig itself into pretty big holes with its bad behavior. Mankind is responsible for the negative conditions on the earth, and it is up to mankind to work hard at solving these problems, and improving the moral and physical condition of this world. God will appreciate all who do good, and will guide those who meditate/prayer for guidance.

If you could drop the mocking for long enough to study the bible with an open mind you would understand the purposes of the Old Testament law. There was moral law but there was also ceremonial law - laws meant to teach lessons to the Jews or to foreshadow the coming of Jesus Christ.

But to answer your main question, it's not that God can't handle sins, but that his anger would flare up and he would DESTROY you if you were in his presence because of his fierce anger against your sin. God is disgusted and outraged at the sin of the human race. Think about how you feel when you read about child abuse, or rape, or torture... Yeah, and that is you with your fractured, unholy conscience - imagine the reaction of a perfectly just, holy, and infinitely powerful being.

Could you really tolerate it if someone you loved, your child, insisted on doing things that you know were hurting him/her? Would you really sit back and do nothing or would you feel sad and worry about that person or child?

God can't tolerate the presence of sin in his kingdom because he knows that it leads to all sorts of pain and suffering...squeamish, hardly...he just wants us all to live in harmony when we get there and to guarantee that, he can't allow people that hurt themselves and others to enter.

When I read a lot of the questions and responses to questions in religion and spirituality I often see the same thing.
People like yourself ask questions for the sole purpose of provoking Christians. Then others offer a response designed to mock or ridicule Christianity.
You won"t provoke me! I will pray for you though, like I would for anyone who is lost and does not know Christ.

Jesus Christ bore the weight of every sin ever committed by Adam and Eve and all their descendants for all time in His own body when He died on the cross.
How sad that some insist on clinging to their sin and letting it drag them down into Hell.

NO way! The fact that you can't resist sin, shows your weakness! May God have mercy on your soul.

It makes you soiled. So no, you are nowhere near as tough as God.
You might be tougher than Glenn Danzig, but that isn't saying much either.
