There is not one shred of evidence to support this wild eyed bigoted claim. The link says nothing about this person being here illegally.

And in the efforts to blame illegal immigrants not one word was mentioned regarding the loss of human lives and homes. Sad.

Catalino Pineda IS legal. He is probably a sick man.

Game is right with that some people are just blaming illegal immigration for their own problems and failures in their life. I think too that some of these people are just bullys and like to target a group that can't really fight back.

And the people who talk about crimes by illegals as if they are all running around comitting crimes are really just using it as an excuse to preach hate. They make me sick when they use a terrible thing to try to spread more of their crap.

It gets worse Chee. The Washington Times (that's the local lame joke of a newspaper here) said that Mexican drug cartels and other Mexican criminals started fires on the southern California border to distract the Border Patrol and police.

Yes some fires probabably are started by drug dealers and coyotes but what the hell? The Real reason for wild fires in the south west is because it is so dry and because the US Forest Service was supressing forest fires for 70 years and they built a dangerous growth. Every summer is an accident waiting to happen now with that and global warming making the area even more dry!

Are people really so damn stupid that they just can't make the connections or what?

My God, you've changed species.

Illegal immigrants are not by definition saints. At least one suspect who was arrested for arson is an illegal immigrant from Guatemala (Penida who someone above says is legal but who I read in several papers isn't, and is on probation for excessive emergency calls. The guy sounds in need of treatment.) I have heard two others, being a father with his juvenile son, may be. 5 people have been arrested, however, including two bona fide Americans.

Then there is the FACT that the 'migrant camps' in the hills by San Diego are a recurring cause of fires here. People living on campfires in fire season in an area where smokers by law can't even smoke on canyon roads, is a bit infuriating.

THOSE fires are accidental, but they are there.

A lot of the fires were due to downed power lines.

I agree we should wait to see the evidence, and take each individual criminal as an individual criminal. To the extent individual criminals are illegally here, after their jail time, they should be deported.

In fact, if they deport all the criminals illegally here without exception, that would be 630,000 this year alone from our prison system, per DHS. They deported 190,000 odd last year, Swift raids and all. Wouldn't the jails be a more efficient place to start?

The attitude in this case by law enforcement is that anyone will do, I mean why would an illegal immigrant want to waste his time setting fires when he needs to find a job and somewhere to live and something to eat, Give me a break

well i not sure why they do it but i guess that if i lived a desperate live because of my own actions perhaps then i .... ummmmmm never mind i would not go blame anyone else besides me for my own choices , i just hope than this is not the case when it comes to those which do such claims but if that was the case their blaming around will not solve or change a bit their situation . tragedies are always happening and when they do one does not go and try to blame those tragedies in other than whoever that caused that tragedy to happen , one should not blame it either in a whole entire group of individuals whoever they might be . i also agree and that what matters here is what was lost and not making such tragedies into an opportunity to bash yet another group of people .

Its easier for them to do that then to admitt that tragedies do happen and that there are bad people in the world who enjoy hurting others. And that it has nothing to do with someone being legal or illegal but with the character of the person. Someone always has to be blamed, the accusations are always the same its just the ethnicity of the person blamed that changes.

They claim to have seen him start a fire, and they didn't know he was here illegally until they stopped him. So your profiling claim is wrong.
