Okay, now this poster is asking an honest and sincere question yet most of you atheist chose to respond in a condescending manner. Sure tell me how non judgmental the lot of you are. Yep, with responses like the ones I see here I am glad that I am NOT AN ATHEIST.
To the OP:
People usually makes jokes out of something to protect themselves or because of insecurity. A rational person wouldn't make fun of anybody for their beliefs. Sure it is okay to question, but to question only to validate and then to quickly invalidate only serves to satisfy the askers selfish intent.
This section should also be about understanding spirituality and religion. If that means questioning it, then that is fine too. Please question with an open mind.
edit: laughter at the expense of others is cruel. It only makes one person feel good.

In the cafeteria at the beginning of the counter, the nuns had placed a bowl of apples, with a sign, which said, "please take only one, God is watching." At the end of the counter some ingenious little girl had placed a sign with a bowl of cookies which read. "Take all the cookies you want, God is watching the apples."

relgion hurts people like gays, lesbians, sexaully active single teenagers, single mums, porn starts and pole dancers so it should be wiped out as also responsible for most unwanted teen pregnancies due to suppressing sex ed, much of the spread of aids for repressing condoms, relgious wars and inquisitions and allowing kids to be abused, woemn seen as baby making meat sacks, forced arrnaged marriage, female gential mtuilation, stoning to death for dating etc etc.

why does everything have to be serious
