I highly doubt it is cat of dog meat. if a place is using that as their meat, they would more than likely have to be rasing it on their own or buying it from some underground market. The health food inspector people would obviously close a place down asap if they found out that was going on. The chicken that tasted weird is probably from it being left out to long in the open air or it was very old chicken that sat in the freezer forever, maybe both. It could even be your own tastebuds. If it didn't taste good to you, make it simple and don't eat it again.

Ive heard that many many times, and if it isnt cat or dog then its something else because it sure isnt chicken!
and not trying to disturb you, but awhile back some friends of mine lived in a neighborhood where every week a new dog would be reported missing and they had some very chinese neighbors, they just stuck with their culture. Nobody really knew but people assumed that thats where all the animals went.
But if theres anything I know, that meat is not chicken.

Ok, so I'll stand out here, but I doubt you are being served dog or cat! Perhaps your "chicken" tastes weird because of the spices, sauces, and other seasonings it has been marinating in. Since you didn't describe "weird", its hard to say. Authentic asian food usually doesn't appeal to the American palate because of its game-iness.

no longer liking chinese language nutrition is one element, yet perpetuating hateful or in simple terms stupid myths is punctiliously diverse. it truly is attainable that your chicken change into overcooked, causing it to be complicated. Why ought to a small chinese language eating position bypass to each and every of the hassle and rate of having rat/dogs/cat meat in simple terms to trick human beings? chicken is a lot more low-cost and larger accessible interior u.s.. i'm no longer declaring that throughout certain aspects of china, cat/dogs isn't eaten. it truly is. yet the following in u.s., that variety of meat isn't socially suitable and they could don't have any reason to serve it the following. chinese language nutrition seems extraordinary or unique to us and it truly is for this reason that folk both like it or hate it. i could also see that they way chicken is waiting (cut back in small products, coated a imagine batter, then with a thick sauce) that it ought to change into fairly unrecognizable, yet you need to comprehend that they don't have any reason to mislead you. I recommend you try another chinese language dish or in simple terms keep on with the ingredients you're attentive to.

Its probably 5 month old chicken. A lot of places just boil chicken and store it. Very few places actually grill it.
