How many times are you going to ask the same question? you are only going to get more variations on the same answer:

YOU CAN'T JUST QUIT. YOU CHOSE to go Undesiganted. Now you get to experience the ramifications of that decision.

The more you whine and try to weasel out of the commitment you made, the harder you will make your time in the Navy be.

According to your previous question you are upset that you are undesignated. I'm just wondering, why did you sign up undesignated? You should have known that recruiters lie, and why didn't you sign as AVIATION undesignated? Instead of Surface Ud.

You need to talk to a career counselor about your situation. You did sign a contract and that's pretty much the answer you're gonna get across the board. Just remember that GREAT LAKES IS NOT THE NAVY! Or any training for that matter. You're not stupid, you know the ways to get out. It's up to you to decide if you are going to do one of them. Personally I think you're going to regret getting out just because it's not perfect.

If I were you I'd wait till I get done with my first command before making my decision.

I had an entry level separation in May of 2002, and from my experience I would say It mostly depends on what kind of problem you are having, but I would first talk to your base Doctor or Psychiatrist before anyone else.

I am in the same boat as you are my friend. I have been in for about three years. I was lucky enough to accidentally get mixed up in a shore duty post fresh out of boot camp but made the stupid mistake of going to the fleet afterwards. I dont know what to tell you about getting out, and i apologize for that. I just wanted to give you some support on your decision to ask around. People say " You signed up for it so stop crying " but dont really know how hectic it gets sometimes. Majority of those people either are not in the military or have some kind of rank they can pull. I am an undesignated seaman, yet have been in for 3 years. The terms that the ceremonial gaurd were under have something to do with it. I miss my family and dont have the luxury of going home to them every night like others on my ship do. I missed my daughters birth and her past two birthdays as well. I have only spent one christmas with her and cherish that moment everytime the holidays come around. I dont understand how people can talk down on someone who made a mistake and got into something they didnt want to. Its not abortion, it not murder. Its something that changes an INDIVIDUAL life without negative consequences if you change your mind.

But enough ranting. I just got online looking for a way to get out and saw your post. Decided to put in my 2 cents. I would go with failure to adapt. I am currently looking at a UA ( unauthorized absence ) charge when i get back to my ship. They prolly wont kick me out which is cool with me. But i do not regret for staying home longer to be with my family. Dont let people get you down by telling you to suck it up. Obviously thier life is where they want it to be at the moment, its not too hard to believe that yours is not.

We know what you're going through. We've been there, and did what we had to do to succeed. Quit feeling sorry for yourself because things are getting a little rough.
See the chaplain and have him punch your TS card.
