I have a beaky nose which is hideous but not nice at all and is unnatrractive. I have always been told i am a very attractive girl because of my other features and even my boyfriend of 4 years tells me I am beautiful and loves me for me even with my nose (cos it could be worse).
Although I did decide recently that I want to have my nose fixed as I believe this is my only serious flaw and I will feel so much more self confident and will stop hiding behind my hair or sunglasses, to feel content.
My boyfriend and I were discussing this last night and I was saying would he think differently of me or feel strange if I fixed it, would he leave me cos I was different (for the better) and he said 'no way, I would only leave you if things between didnt work out etc', He also said if I had it done that would mean "I could have any guy I wanted"
What does he mean, is he insecure?? I'm confused.

To Financin...I brought the subject up not him because i have been given an appointment to have it done so that is why we are discussing it. My boyfriend has loved me since highschool and will accept me anyway as long as i am happy. I wanted to do this, not him.

Dont search for hidden meanings in what your guy said! The guy has been with you for 4 years!!! Why would he leave you if you look better? Guys are fairly uncomplex - he just said what he felt. Enjoy the compliment dear!! Also, Ive felt that guys can be superficial at times - but thats usually something they do, when they dont know you! Hes been with you 4 years!, so, hes sticking around- what about you? Are you getting the new nose, for yourself and not to get attention from other guys? If so, let him know that! Hes asking to be reassured. So, give him that reassurance. All the best!

Sounds a bit insecure (maybe), but he wasn't being mean or anything. By the way, I don't know what you look like, but I'm sure your nose fits your face. I wouldn't get it fixed because then you'd just have an average nose. Love the way you were made :)

It seems he might be a a little insecure ,but he may also think that with your new found confidence(once you get your nose job) you will leave him for some one better looking. Just to let you know, you can have any guy you want now - it's just a matter of self confidence. However, if you really want your nose done, do it for you and no one else.
As for his thoughtless comment -- that's probably all it was if he's a good boyfriend more often than not. Still, if he seems possesive or doesn't want you to get your nose done -- I would think twice before continuing the relationship.

Oodles, being a guy I would say that what he meant by that was that guys who avoided you before cuz your nose (shallow if you ask me) would now go out with you in a heartbeat now that you'd supposedly have "no" flaws. Oodles, that's my take on the situation at hand. No, he isn't insecure, he's afraid he'll lose you. Good luck!!!

Dump his sorry ass. He doenst love you. After 4 years he is still talking about your nose. God forbid you were caught in a house fire and 20% of your face was burned. What would he do then?
Belittle you again and say I love you even though your face got disfigured for a fire? Does he think this is helpful? He is clearly belittiling you to make himself feel better.
His self confidence is extremely low and the only way to make him feel better is to make you feel worse. So you feel like because of *ALL YOUR PROBLEMS* he still stuck with you.
When in reality you have no problems. Its a issue with him, has nothing to do with your nose. Fix the nose, he will find something else to say about you, to make you feel undeserving.

I think what he ment by that was that you are all ready beautiful and if you were to go through with it then you will be perfect. To me it sounds like you may be insecure, remember looks arn't everything, if you already have a boyfriend who accepts and loves you for who you are why do you need to change your looks for? remember that self-confidence come from within!!

It sounds like he might be worried about the guys flirting with you all the time. He might not want to be under that type of pressure. If he is happy with you don't change it, unless you really can't live with your nose. I have a big nose. But like what meg ryan did, now she just don't look like Meg.

u kno how said u were rly attracted, well he means that if u get ur nose fixed, then other guyz might ask u out and ****, and im guessing that he rly lyks u or sumthin and he is scared that other ppl will start lyking u if u get ur nose done.
