and throwing that phrase around freely. I have a freakin 130 IQ and am an honor student. I'm not the best in math. Why does she keep saying this? she says its because when I get mad I tend to dwell on what I'm mad about (uh, holding grudges). My husband is pissed because she keeps calling me autistic. She cant ever say why else she thinks it. Ive been to regular doctors and psychiatrists as a kid and adult because of depression and not ONE of them has said I am autistic. Why is she doing this? Do I sound autistic?

You don't seem autistic from the post that you just made although autistic people can be highly intelligent in certain areas.
You holding a grudge or dwelling on things seems normal enough for signs of depression.
I think that your mom is holding onto some anger issues but only you would know what those might be and being a nurse does not necessarily qualify her to diagnose Autism.
Perhaps you should get a counselor to deal with your holding grudges and eventually get your mom to join you for a few of these sessions to work out this issue.
Otherwise, I would tell her to please stop be critical and if she cannot then you think it is best that you and her don't see each other for awhile or speak to each other. The space and time might make her see the light and realize her labeling is a unhealthy way of dealing with whatever is bothering her.

No, you sound perfectly normal. I'd tell your mom to either let it go, and stop calling you that, or to just stop calling you altogether. You don't need the stress of her judging you in your life. It's not horrible to hold grudges, and if she doesn't like that you have had depression in your life, it's not your problem. I think she's judgmental and maybe has something wrong with her. Either that or she has no idea what autistic means.

there are 3 main identifiers of people with Autism, Asbergers, PDDNOS, and all the other syndromes that fall under the Autism umbrella. The #1 tell tale sign (which is the only one that applies to ALL Autism Syndromes) is a social deficit. If you are able to interact with people in a healthy way and can feel sympathy and empathy for others, then it is a safe bet that you are not. Try asking your mom to go over some material that lists the 'symptoms' with you so you two may discuss them together.

Tell your mom to get a dictionary and to look autistic up! Seriously, it doesnt even sound like she know what it means. I think theres something wrong with her. Maybe she's thought about it so much, she has actually started believing herself.
But if this is true, 1. you have to ask yourself why she thinks this and 2. shes too far gone to even try to prove her otherwise

No, you might just have a bad character flaw. If you were autistic they would've discovered this when you were way younger.
Your mother may be a nurse but it doesn't mean she'll always make correct diagnoses.

this is my take. she is jealous of your success and the success of your marriage is she div or unhappily married, and tell her that this is your life and if she cannot be supportive and validating of your feelings. call her on it every time and tell her that you will not allow her to invalidate your feelings, so if she wants some sort of relationship with you, she will stop. and find something else to ***** about believe me until you stand up to her a small part of you will not grow up., don't let her see that she is getting under your skin. my mother called me all sorts of crap as a child teenager adult she always wanted to compete with me on some level. you don't let your husband walk all over you do you? no apply that to your mother. that's my suggestion.

Your mother is out of line. I would tell her if she keeps this up you aren't going to have contact with her. She sounds like she is just being mean. You sound fine.

to be frank its to test you and to annoy you. to make you look bad. maybe to get your husband to leave you. she must be mad about some thing that makes her say it. ignore it. or ask her why she says that when it is not true.
