The Koran says in 4:157, that God causes someone who looked like Jesus to die on the cross in his place, therefore tricking the apostles of Christ into thinking he was crucified. My question is: how can you escape the fact that the rise of Christianity to the largest religion in the world is ultimately the result of the divine action of Allah?

The Problem the Quran has is spreading Stories that are In direct opposition to what is written in the Bible.Who else has a vested Interest making sure that the accounts of Jesus are as confusing as Ever? Like Christ Not laying down his life for Mankind. The Bible says that Satan is at Work here. Its Amazing that it took Satan some 700 years to come up with this Idea of having another Book written to Challenge The Bible account. The saddest Part of all of this is the fact that Millions of people believe it.

I skimmed the Koran because I had to know somethings for a course I took. The Nag Hammadi documents [gnostics] had some interesting information, in that they thought the Jesus persona was a spirit and nothing more. The Christians assumed he was real and a messiah at best - or, because Paul stated so which is interesting in that Paul mentions nothing of Jesus' virgin birth, genealogy or any other part of his life until around the crucifixion.

One story had the Jesus person set up his crucifixion so he could claim he was the real messiah, and that the gaul had some drug/s in it which made him appear to be dead. [Also, there were many different savior myths during that time].

There is also the gospel of Peter that has Jesus standing beside the cross laughing at the mourners as he gave up his body but not his spirit which was very much alive. Then there was a story about Jesus being an amalgamation of all the savior gods that were being worshiped during that time. Allah, well he came along 800 years later, so guess as guess can.

The Koran and the Bible. Both have the same God. The Bible has been proved that it has dated back far before the Koran. The Koran was only created in the 9th centuary.

The Koran takes things from the Bible (e.g. Noah, Jesus) and then adds rules and false stories that the makers of it made up.

God says that you should not worship idols.

Taking God and moulding Him into what you want to believe is idol worship. Creating God in mans own image....

This is what the Koran is: The idolization of God.

So in answer to your question: Judas died because he betrayed Jesus, he died by killing HIMSELF.

Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins, if someone else died so Jesus could trick his own apostles then our sins have not been taken up and we will utimately die and never see heaven.

Try reading the Koran and then read the Bible, see which one you think is false or true AFTER you have read them both.

If someone doesn't believe in the Koran, then it doesn't matter -what- it says, does it?

Aren't Allah and God the same being? Just known by different names? Christianity rose to a bigger religion than Islam because of political and economic factors over the last 1000 years or so, which favored people who knew God one way over people who knew him another way. That doesn't imply in any way that either is superior to the other.

It was barnabus who was crucified. And according to the cencus, Christianity is about 33% of the world and has remained like that for many many years. Islam is about 22% and has been increasing dramatically. So much that by the mid-21st century, Islam will be the largest religion in the world.

The Bible says that Jesus died on the cross. The Qu'ran says they got Jesus's magical twin or whatever and crucified him instead?

The Qu'ran also says to murder infidels. Oh, and Mohammed married a six-year-old; while it was very common to be married at a young age back then, I think marrying a six-year-old is a bit nutty. Credibility just went down a notch in my books.

Thank-you for brining this to my attention.

I believe the Bible, but that fine if you believe the Koran.
However, whether that has anything to do with Allah is your opinion. Its not that we "cant escape it" its that we choose to bei;ive the bible.
