the question is not clear...I know ...
for example you can't always get what you want (for example a person you like) you can mess a possible relationship with someone you fancy...and if you were to go back and be able to "correct it" or "undo" u might be able to be with her still...lol

The phrase "it was meant to be" is used by me when I have done what I can to follow God's will and yet at the time it seems that He isn't listening. In fact, He is and He cares. And in the long run, I will and have always understood why things happen the way they do.

There are some things out of our control, they are the ones meant to be. Such as a child born with cancer. My sisters faith has been tested more then any human I know personally.
One child born with cancer, another suffered a brain injury at age 12, however she always says that God has a reason for everything, it was meant to be.
If someone you fancy does not feel the same way, if God desires you to be with that person in the long run you could, if it is meant to be. If not pray for the one who is meant for you.

I have no clue if this is what you are asking or not..
SOME THINGS ARE MEANT TO BE
I am Atheist so I have no faith in kharma or a god who plans things out for us. Sometimes what most consider to be coincidence occurs, events happen and people come into our lives. Sometimes you find the once in a lifetime purely by accident. When things happen you should always take every opportunity to relish every moment and fully feel it because you never know what is around the next corner. If you pay attention you will find that life is pretty darned amazing. You never know when you will find your very own "meant to be"

Doug, you are young enough to learn this now. It took me over 50 years to learn this principle. Everything and I mean everything happens for a REASON. As you get older you will notice certain circumstances come up in your life and wonder, why did that happen? Months down the road, there will be your answer. Choice or no choice, everything happens for a REASON. If you use this principle in your life, you will understand so much more of what is going on in your life and others lives as well. I hope this has helped, Blessings

actually fate and predestination is a huge debate that has gone on since the days of christ.
i think we are all puppets unless we repent of our sins. then we are free to choose our pathways. if we can prove to God that our repentence and faith is perfect we will be suffered to endure every test and every scenario to be able to justify our condemnation or our sanctification.
while we are captains of our souls. (thats a song) it is better to submit to the will of God.
for what path we choose will always be less than what God had planned for us.

"What is meant to be" is one of those platitudes uttered by morons who either don't want to take responsibility or haven't the guts to tell you that your choices were bad.
True friends tell you when you screw up, and true friends remain your friend when you tell them they screwed up.
