(10-25) 09:28 PDT Los Angeles (AP) --
Police have arrested a man in Los Angeles after witnesses say they saw him lighting a fire on a hillside.

Authorities say 41-year-old Catalino Pineda was seen starting a fire in the San Fernando Valley Wednesday and then walking away. Witnesses alerted authorities and followed the man to a nearby restaurant where police arrested him.

Pineda was booked for investigation of arson. Authorities say the Guatemala native is currently on probation for making excessive false emergency reports to law enforcement.

Police and fire officials could not immediately say whether he might be connected to any of the wildfires in Southern California.

The OTHER fire which illegals are responsible for is the fire where 3 of the 4 illegals died while making a bomb fire at night that got out of control.

I personally think a few of you owe me an apology.

Thinking, While I agree with you that the media/news is totally controlled. It isn't directly Liberal OR Conservative who is controlling it. It is the elite super rich old money people who are. I agree with you also that Hillary BS was swept very quickly under the rug, so to speak. Disgusting to say the least!

Airbob... If he is a day laborer from Guatamala, then chances are that he is an illegal. This is not a stretch of the imagination. If he had a VISA, they would state that he has a VISA, but they didn't, did they?

Here is MORE:

The Washington Times

Armed smugglers of aliens and drugs have walked through the middle of active firefighting operations, the authorities said.

The Border Patrol's Tucson, Ariz., sector, which encompasses most of the Coronado National Forest, has the highest incidence of cross-border violators in the nation. Nearly 500,000 illegal aliens were apprehended last year -- more than 30,000 a month. In addition, nearly 100,000 pounds of marijuana, with a street value of $200 million, was seized as it was hauled through the Coronado National Forest.

Last month, the Border Patrol -- in a single operation targeting illegal aliens causing what Forest Service officials called "significant damage" to the Coronado National Forest -- apprehended more than 300 illegals along just a three-mile section of Arizona-Mexico border and confiscated 600 pounds of marijuana in a 10-day period.

At least five fires were set below a Border Patrol observation post during the operation in an effort to burn the agents out, according to a Forest Service report. The fires were extinguished, and no one was arrested.

Wildfires are being set by alien and drug smugglers, authorities said, to create a diversion in an attempt to gain undetected access across the border. The fires correspond to a dramatic rise in assaults against Border Patrol agents -- up more than 100 percent over last year.

"Criminal activity by both illegal immigrants and citizens in forests near the border is a threat to members of the public trying to use their public lands and to our employees trying to manage these lands," Tina J. Terrell, a Forest Service supervisor told a House subcommittee in May.

She said law enforcement personnel have been assaulted, threatened with weapons and shot at, and their vehicles have been rammed by cross-border violators.

Because of the remoteness of the area, she said, timely assistance from other law enforcement agencies is not always possible and communications limitations and active interference with radio frequencies in Mexico create additional safety risks.

"Even normal enforcement duties bring our officers in regular contact with cross-border violators," she said. "Our officers risk their lives every day to enforce the law in these remote federally managed lands."

The Coronado National Forest is not the only area along the Arizona-Mexico border being targeted for wildfires. Other blazes also have been set, including two this month near the San Luis, Ariz., port of entry as the result of Molotov cocktails -- one of which barely missed a Border Patrol agent.

Authorities said agents are being targeted by illegal aliens and their smugglers for rock attacks -- including grapefruit-size rocks wrapped in rags, dipped in gasoline and set on fire.

"As larger areas of the border come under operational control, we can expect violence to increase as smuggling operations can no longer operate with impunity and do not have unfettered access to the border for their criminal activities," Border Patrol Chief David V. Aguilar told a Homeland Security subcommittee this year.

"This explosion of aggression is an indicator how desperate and angry drug and human traffickers are at the increasing disruption of their smuggling routes," he said.

Great find! Thank you for sharing. The media only tells the public what they're paid to tell them.

It has been going on for years - including during the Clinton administration. Look at this CNN story about wildfires set by illegals in 1996.

http://www.cnn.com/US/9607/28/border.fires/index.html
Here, in the rough and remote country, immigrants set up camp after camp as they work their way through canyons and gullies, cutting trails to avoid detection.

These trails "are all over the fire areas," says Butch Campbell of the California Department of Forestry.

"Three years ago, the Otay Mountain area was fairly natural in character," says the Bureau of Land Management's Julia Dugan. "Now if you go out there, you find that's not the case."

Littered through the landscape now: trails of old campfires, discarded water bottles and clothing.

More fires caused by illegals - as they destroy wildlife, homes and lives:

Since Clinton signed the NAFTA agreement, he has tried his best to open the borders - now his wife is trying to do the same thing to push the North America Union forward.

There was a time when the only news media was on tv, in newspapers or on the radio. But now we have the internet where we receive instant and unbiased news from reliable sources.

Which media does the public listen to? The truth is out there for anyone who wants to read it on the internet - before the government censors it.

Totally legit. Keep searching, plenty more out there. Not even the libs are going to keep all of these facts quiet. There are many disconcerting facts regarding these fires. Some regarding the response and some regarding illegals. I got a good laugh at Bill O'Reilly's site reading about how it's all part of the Reconquista...he's a bit extreme but, makes one wonder nonetheless. The campfires, if publicly determined the cause, were not intentional...but that is not the point. It isn't the first time campfires caused problems in CA. I personally think you'll never get that one main apology you are seriously owed though. It's too in denial, drinking it's Starbucks with illegals. Great post!

BTW: The FEMA conference was a fake.

It doesn't surprise me that illegal aliens or smugglers started some of the fires, but the liberal media isn't going to report that illegal aliens started the fires until the criminals are indicted. You should forward that article to Lou Dobbs, he did report on the first story. Bill O'Reilly might report the story too.

First I think Afesf is right don't jump to conclusions until President Bush starts talking about the "good illegals", then we will know for sure. A great researched question i am impressed. I asked one similar earlier about the drug folks being mad about the fence Sen. hunter put up that cut immigration and CRIME by 90% and that's a known fact.

"27% of federal prisons inmates are illegal immigrates
Spend one billion a year keeping them up
about 300,000 illegal immigrates in state prisons
In Los Angeles, 95% of outstanding homocide warrants are for illegal immigrants
"As the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) points out, in Los Angeles two-thirds of all fugitive felony warrants are for illegal immigrants".
With ICE so vastly outnumbered (two thousand vs 15 million),one obvious solution is local police support....in most cities many are not allowed to use immigration violation as ground for arrest.

San Diego-Sanctuary City

"In 1996 Clinton sped up the citizen process and an audit showed 99% of the applications in New York and 90% in Los Angeles had errors. As a result tens of thousands of aliens with criminal records, including murder and armed robbery were naturalized, just in time to vote in the election for president".

One in seven of the ones you mention caught at the border are from terror sponsors: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan and Syria (www.state.gov/s/ct/c14151.htm) (790,000)

They do need to report the news. Illegals and the people(business owners) who cheat the government out of tax money. Bees to honey. take care. Go get em.

Very well researched and very properly reported, I give you a huge star. Keep going Fed Up, I feel the same anger as you and most Americans at being lied to and treated as if we were 12. I detest the illegals as much as is humanly possible and so does everyone I know. My biggest question is when are we the people going to demand the truth and representation in our capital! I admire your tenacious quest for the truth and your honesty in speaking out on lies!

The media will not report anything unless the illegals are being separated from his or her family>The libs want amnesty for the illegals for there votes why talk them down>They were making a camp fire to eat & keep warm>in 50+mph winds>>Hum>>

They can't ! Doing so would be like admitting liberals are wrong! (even tho that's the case) and since there Liberal controlled! They banned a Video tape of Hillary getting caught red handed in a huge lie about Campaign funds . If the media wasn't controlled by the Left all of there corruption would be shown to the public and there would be no Democrats left. But even If you can prove it was a illegal who started the fire Liberals will lie about it.
