Not sure about Pugs being genius but this one's really 'artful'. So sly!!! Steals, by being 'oh so cute', from right under other's nose!

Based on personal experience, I have to say that Shar Pei are pretty sharp, eh.
MoMo was brilliant - could count, speak English (and possibly Mandarin too), exhibited class - even with her snorts and burps, and was "this close" to being the perfect dog. And then along came Herc.... who by every standard I know, might be classified as "dumb as a stump". That is until he deftly and indelibly worked his way into my heart and taught me everything I know about unconditional love and in my books, he was a genius.

Not really. They are usually sweet-natured and affectionate, but most are not particularly intelligent.
