It's only a problem if you think it's a problem. If you like him and you two are comfortable with each other and your respective heights, there is no problem, no matter what someone else says.

Vote your cuz off the island.
The only problems associated with height have already been handled in this relationship. By calling him your boyfriend I am assuming that neither he not you have a problem with it. If that's the case then any outsiders opinions mean nothing.
And, your cuz is an outsider.
In all honestly it took me about 10 minutes to get over the difference in height I had with a woman I dated. When she offered to wear flats, that did it. She cared enough about me to ask that. At that point I knew I had a prize... The Vietnam war broke us up but after nearly 40 years I still have some feelings for her. I hope she is happy where ever she is.
BTW, she regularly wore high heels with my blessing.

Tell your cuz he's not her boyfriend.
And it's probably more important how he treats you, then how he looks?
What should be the priority?
What if you're going with a guy who is tall, you look so good together, but he's a two timeing jerk.
Of coarse a short guy can be a jerk too.
But ppl who judge other ppl by their looks are not too intellegent.

I know this sounds weird, but I've had boyfriends that were shorter than me and it has for some reason never worked out. All of mine had "little man syndrome" i.e. were insecure about their height and tried to make up for it by overcompensating and usually obnoxious behavior.

no but try making him feel the dominant one in bed if you are old enough to be thinking bout that cos being shorter and undominant is frustrating for a guy

Heck no. I've dated two women who were a couple of inches taller than I and it was never an issue.

No problem--perhaps he has the same dilema about you being taller than him. Dudley moore was short but he did okay with the taller ladies. Why are you bothered about what your cousin says, its nothing to do with her/him is it really.
