With amp heads, are the ohms the same for the speaker outs and the record outs?

Or is the whole idea about record outs that they don't have impedance or something?

The right answer is no, they are not the same. Speakers can run basically either 4, 8, or 16 ohm, line in and line out are at 10K ohms.

I have seen car speakers at less than an ohm, but I would not run them that way, if the line shorts or you get zero impedance, something is going to pop.
