Is their punishment for doing so far worse than that of others?

Did they mistake "profit" for "prophet"?

Far too many. I give my money directly to charities. I believe that God appreciates my generosity. Years ago I went to a church that preached "reap what you sow". I stopped going when I saw the "church family" at a restaurant treating people like crap and acting like they were entitled.

Too much over the years that I have seen.
Punishment ? Saw some go to Jail, some die
not so pleasantly or alone ... some take and are
never told... I guess if they have these cores beliefs
then they had a bad day at the pearly gates. Mistakes?
Once all is forgiven? The twist. Punishment worse than others? Why the puzzle here? NO Ultimately depending on your belief
system it end up even. Punishments on Earth. Many like politicians get away with everything to murder.

* Did you know Hillary claims it was Billy Graham that enlightened her to forgiveness and prayer during the difficult years with her husband. ........ How big is that Cathedral he
has anyway? Thanks.

edit : I save Prophet status for those who deserve. The likes of a Kahlil Gibran, or a Mohammad or Dalai Lai kind visionary. Me I am Christian but I recognize everybody.:) well almost. Even the Devil was once an arch angel ...

If you can get on TV for enough hours a week, you can rake in a lot of money. Fake weight-loss formulas take in billions a year, I can't imagine that TV religion salesmen are any less successful.

Of course, organized religion has always been very successful in getting believers to part with thier cash, so it's hardly a new phenomenon, just the latest medium.

It is my opinion that anyone that uses the Word of God for the purpose of making themselves rich has used the Name of God in Vain.
It may be and probably is that many were saved by those ministries but I would not want to be that Preacher on judgment day.

I don't know.

It's a crying shame, since the money could be better used.

I'm an atheist who regularly donates to a local charity which began as Christian but now is multi faith (and no faith). I see the good which results from my charitable investment right before my eyes.

In a free enterprise economy why not become a 'Pope' or a Billy Grahame and have followers give you 10% plus of their incomes. Think of what you are missing!
