you should never judege people for their personal beliefs and opinions. You should take them as you find them and judge their actions. I asked this question because there have been a few Christians who have judged Atheists as cold hearted people that have no empathy and no Morals. I find this hard to comprehend, I might be Atheist but I am stil a Human being.

I believe that all things should be looked at from all perspectives to be able to come to any conclusions of belief.

DAN H, that is my thoughts, I will listen to your beliefs, but it is only proper that you should listen to mine, that way we all gain an understanding of eachother. I only get frustrated with ignorance, but that person is still entitled to their opinion.

Christians ask why Atheists come to this site, well you should look at it as an informational site, a sharing of knowledge and philosophy is a good thing, it teaches us other opinions and other interpretations of religion.

I see a lot of Christians quoting scripture, saying they do not judge, but we Atheists are judged everyday as evil on here, some condemn us to hell, some wish us dead! but some are not ignorant and get to me as a person, those are the ones that deserve respect. the others are lying to themselves.

yes, if they tell me about the church in the first two hours of conversation, i judge them to be somebody I would not want to freely exchange ideas with.

Normally I do not discuss politics or religion with anybody when I first encounter them, so I only judge them if they bring the subject up so soon. Of course if they are wearing a religious uniform when we meet, I will make an exception lol

however I assume that you refer to the way you and I are judged as atheists? It biols down to human nature.

Taking responsibility for our errors and omissions is vital to the learning and growing which frees us from repeated cycles of stressful experiences - as the saying goes "Those who do not learn from the past are destined to repeat it!"

The Bible is a good source of common sense - but to learn it parrot fashion, you do not get to then apply common sense to other situations. To gain control over us, the bible has shifted some of the responsibility from our shoulders to imaginary others. Inappropriate or excessive blaming of others gives away our personal power and sense of control to those who we tell ourselves are "responsible - guilty".

We cannot solve stressful situations unless we give ourselves some personal power and influence (responsibility) over them.

Excessive blaming of ourselves - "Beating myself up" - can also be counter-productive. Inappropriate or excess self-blame generates internal conflict, inner fragmentation and a lowering of our energy and self-confidence just when we have a difficult setback or situation to deal with.

Thus a religious individual will run to the shelter of the church and blame the devil, whilst a atheist will learnt by the experiance, and ride over or throught it.

Judgement is part of our self defence system, and once bitten by the hypocrites, I tend to steer away from radicals now, in self defence.

I don't judge a person by her religious belief.

I find your explanation very interesting. In Yahoo!Answers there is a "struggle" between Atheists and Believers about the roots of the faith, the very existence of God, evolution/ creationism and so on. It is so in the English section and in the Italian as well. Ok. It's allright. But I don't read messages, in which is written that Atheists are "cold hearted".

Do you hear something like that in the allday life?
I wonder if it is different here in Italy, but I can't draw any conclusion. As you know, the State of the Church is in Rome. Once it had a much larger territory. We are used here to see the Church as a strong power and, at the same time, we have always seen its human weakness and limits. Since the Middle Age we had struggles between supporters and enemies of the Church. The Church has used its power to take influence upon life in Italy and Italians have used the Church for political reasons. In the population you can find often a critical eye to the Church and the faith. So this is why Atheists are not considered "cold hearted".

For your statement you are not confidence to be atheist however a real atheist is not lean on one thing(religious superinstitution, nor science statistice report) he must compare and think about the origin of the images(all things you can sense in our world) why it come out and where should it be. Christian does not mean they made sense to go though everythings, mostly are superinsitution and never find the reason nor the origin. Their authority told him and he accept all never consider why.
When people are sutborn to their points, he will never get anything into his ears. The best way to them is to shut up which budha had been discussed with the Hindru authority using the same way called silience thunder. The Hindru they understood at the end and followed Budha.
Silver tongue; you are not a superinstitution man, try more budha and Hindru sutras, they will tell you more interesting things and better argue with such jokes.
As our Karmas to meet each other and I feel the right time to tell you as Toa said; the chances and the right people you can tell him what is Toa.

Not much. People often are raised with a particular set of beliefs, and for whatever reason never get around to properly examining them. I can't fault them too much for that. However, when the person acts on those beliefs in a way that is detrimental (standing in the way of equal rights for others, demanding the death of a non-believer, whatever), then we have issues. I may sometimes seem like I'm judging a person when the person can't separate themselves from their belief. For example, if I point out an inconsistency in the Bible, I'm not judging them, even if they believe that the Bible is true.

We all make judgements about each other; often very misinformed ones!
I am a Christian and I hope that I don't judge anyone although I do make judgements based on my beliefs.
The Bible tells me that unless you have faith in God you are condemned; that is not a judgement I am making but a belief I accept.
My purpose in telling people my beliefs is not to antagonise or judge but because I truly believe that the only way to be saved from condemnation is to trust in God. I want to see people saved from hell not simply agree with me :o)

Matthew 7:1
Judge not, that ye be not judged.

Luke 6:37
Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

I Corinthians 4:3-5
But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.
4 For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.
5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

I judge the religion or the church for teaching lies and the traditions of men to the people. in revelations it even states to Babylon the great the world empire of false religion for the people to get out of her if you do not want to share with her in her sins. Notice the bible the book of Christians mentions this empire of false religion, I once asked a question concerning the many anti- Christs and religion is part of this movement.

I recently went to my mate's grand-daughter's christening in the gardens of his wife's parents' 'mansion'.
There was a buffet luncheon after wards - I sat with the preacher and his wife and I waited for the subject of religion to come up.
They may have been warned about me too cos the subject never came up.
I had a lovely lunch and we talked about all sortsa stuff I found interesting - it helped that his wife was eye-candy.

So in answer to your question the answer is 'yes' but ...

No NEVER..i only judge them on their action. People are all entitled to believe in what ever they want to believe in..its wrong to judge some one totally on that just because one don't necessarily believe in what the other believes in.
