My church would accept this person, recognizing that we all have struggles and those struggles are not the first thing to be addressed when someone is interested in the church. He should be welcomed and treated with respect. If he is experiencing any type of injustice or prejudice, the church should be willing to support him (though not condoning homosexual behavior). Hopefully, he would feel free to talk about his homosexuality and be received with kindness and encouragement to move away from a homosexual lifestyle. The church would recognize that this is an unbelievably difficult thing to do--to fight against sexual orientation--and the church would be there to support him.

Gay people come to the church I attend http://www.alcf.net on a regular basis seeking help because we have a van service that picks people up from a local rehab program and it seems like there are frequently people who come who are gay, some of who are suffering from HIV.
We are a "come as you are" church because "God loves you just the way that you are, but He loves you too much to leave you the way that you are". And so we invite everyone, pray that we can be used as fishers of men to catch them for the Lord and then as they sit under sound teaching and read the Bible let the Lord do the "cleaning" up of their lives.
That having been said, my Pastor has preached a couple of sermons that were directed at the issue of homosexuality called "Grace & Truth About Homosexuality"

Grace & Truth About Homosexuality (2 part series) - Addressing the subject of homosexuality with both grace and truth; practical advice for those who struggle with homosexuality; straight talk to believers about sinful attitudes and actions toward homosexuals (based on John 1:14,16-17)

I currently do not go to church. But I went to a christian church regulary a few years ago. Christians are suppose to be accepting of all people, and so is god for that matter. So whether a church, or bible says being gay is wrong, in the end God Loves Everyone and that's all that matters.

God intended for a man and a woman to be partners. Going against God's will is a sin. Since all sins are the same in God's eyes, it doesnt matter. God is accepting of everyone. I would hope that my church would accept this person too. We are all sinners needing to be forgiven. Hopefully the person would come to understand that.

Frankly I don't step foot in a Christian church anymore because quite frankly I think they are all hypocrites they teach to love equally and accept anyone & everyone but they don't they are a bunch of judgemental idiots. When I was going to that church I noticed how materialistic Christians are worried about what car they drive or car others drive They say they help anyone not the case. When I waas going I took a homeless man that lived by the College I was going to they told me not to take him anymore. So that was the last they I went to that church or assoviated myself with that type of low class hypocrits. Now before anybody comments on my response I went to various churches & felt & saw the same hypocracy.

Accuse them of blasphemy for showing up at the church, I would send them to congress where they would refuse to resign when caught RED HANDED with their hand in the cookie jar.
Since the choice is made by our genes for us, and the right environmentto make a person gay is provided by home and society, I wouldn't say or do anything except try to help. If the church were to object I would find us both a new church.

1. I'd not be afraid of telling them to their face that homosexuality is an abomination.
2. Any church should be able to convince them to abandon the shameful deed of satan and his demons.
3. How they react is entirely up to them.
4. React to what?

Most gay people wouldn't go anywhere near a church as they know they will be reviled and verbally, possibly physically, abused. I have known gay people who have tried to be Christian being brought to the brink of suicide by the treatment they have received from the church.
By the way, I am a Christian, and no, I'm not gay, but I do have gay friends.

My church accepts all people regardless. We are all sinners and we all need forgiveness and salvation. My church is a community of believers that comes together to worship, praise and give thanks to the Lord God Almighty. We are not there to judge anyone. God is our only judge. God Bless
