As in, Catholicism, mainline protestantism, the Orthodox church, the charismatic churches, etc. --- and what do you think this means? I guess I was thinking about it in terms of brand new believers and what to them seems the plainest and truest interpretation of scripture.

What do you think? :)

There are a lot of studies on this very thing, which show that non-denominational, bible-based churches are growing rapidly while almost every other mainline denomination is losing members.

Another area of growth is the "emerging" church - that is, churches which are intentional about providing unique and relevant worship services for people aged (roughly) 20-35.

First, only the Holy Spirit can save a person. God is way past denominations. For that matter, there is really only supposed to be the Church, not all these factions - but, God is patient with us and our pride.

The scripture interprets itself. There are times to refer to original Hebrew or Greek in order to get a better idea of a word or meaning, but overall, the scriptures are fairly plain and clear. Often, when there is a difference of idea or teaching of a doctrine, someone on either side has it wrong or has added their own spin on it. The scriptures would reveal the correct interpretation by way of context, other comparitive scripture (also within their context) and if need be, linguistic study.

I don't know who gets more converts...I think that the truest interpretation of the Bible I've heard is in a nondenominational church as long as it is truly nondenominational and the majority of people are seeking the truth and heart of God. I love my church and I think their interpretation is right 99% of the time personally. I think that all churches might have a small percentage of error in their interpretations. I think you should read the Bible and ask God to give you wisdom to understand as you read.

Hi, KI

The Evangelical church is the fastest growing denomination globally. Their name means Gospel, and it is not a mainstream denomination.

Anyone can declare themselves a minister without any seminary training or education at all. They shout praises, sing, and clap. Have seen some of their services in Central America and their congregations are large.

God has given us specific truths, and Jesus said to 'teach the nations to observe all that I have commanded you', so if the Gospel is complete, and you must live a cross-bearing life like Jesus and the Disciples, then you must take up your cross and follow Jesus. Don't expect that kind of church to be popular.

God sends us a last day message, it isn't popular, either. See http://abiblecode.tripod.com

Shalom, peace in Jesus, Ben Yeshua

I believe those denominations which preach a watered down bible and accept what the bible does not accept. Pentecostalism (charismatics) is fast growing and it goes on feel good religion and depending on which church you go can experience a great show of entertainment.

i think it goes in waves, men are blind and women are demonic. Only the seers and the prophets have seen the lord.

Ok, because of blindness and lack of forgivness and love people follow the winds of doctrine as they are moved by the best speeches, not necessarily the truth. So within a generation it is possible that all churches get the winds New patrons.
what would not surprise me that when one church gets a high influx, that another becomes bankrupt.

Just because one denomination gets themost converts I don't think makes it a plainer and truer interpretation of scripture. It probably just means they've marketed themeslves better to outsiders, and made it sound better than everything else.

I am not into denominations or branches. All people who accept Trinity are Christians and we are only talking about the secondary worship styles. The main thing is that we are God's human partners to have His will be done.

actually i think it is the non-denominational churches that get more converts...they tend to have less rules to live by and people prefer this.
